you're right about one thing dashrike and that is that the PS2 controllers are very nicely shaped and it is easy to reach all of the buttons. There are also not that many buttons so that makes life alot easier.

Reasons to own a GameCube instead of a  X-Box:

-Controller is PERFECT. It FITS in your hands, and you don't actually have pain after playing 1 hour cuz the controller is too big

- Metroid, Zelda, Mario (compared to Halo + Halo2, it's much much more interesting. If you state only TWO good games for ONE complete system, that's a goddamn nice loss in the process)

- The ####ING price! God... 139.99 just crushes 239.99...

Reasons not to buy a X-Box

- Made by Microsoft

That's enough not to even think of buying a X-box. Gamecube fills in the perfect definition of a All Around Game Console. X-Box is only one more way for Bill Gates to make more money: it's a "smaller" computer which has a controller. It just does less than a computer for no big advantages.

I'd also like anyone not to use pejorative terms when talking about other consoles you do not like; respect other's oppinions.

I thought gcube was retailed for 99.99 (they have them for sale for 79.99 at my store btw...)

To that Xbox person: Hardware specs mean crap ok? It's not the specs that make any system great, it's the GAMES. Nintendo delivers solid games, while most Microsoft games are... well disappointing because either they are or they are PC ripoffs (pc games are cheaper then console ones usually and games like rainbow 6: 3 have to be payed for on Xbox, while the pc version is free online). Halo 2 although is a major killer ap, but I'll just get it on PC ya know...

I don't really play console by myself these days... But multiplayer is what makes it so damn fun... so PC>Console

BTW: Paladin, ya know you can play Mario Kart online?

and to question Unknown Being:

- I believe controllers to be equal
- More durable controller? Any proof? Nintendo will fix your controller if you send it to them
- 5GB Harddrive? Uh yes it replaces the memory card, but... 100 bucks extra for that? I think not
- Halo and Halo 2? PC versions Nuff' said
- Rareware is Crapware now, if you didn't know, Most of the "golden" members split, some went to Free Radical, which made Timesplitters, and another guy went to make his own company which is making Geist (I forgot the name of it), so Rareware is just... crap now, I mean Conker's Bad Fur Day again might be OK, but Grabbed by the Ghoulies???!?!? I think not, PD Zero might be good though, but it will be in new hands
- When you argue over how many more buttons the Xbox has, I really think you are desperate

The last I heard the G-cube was retailed at 99.99. Now if I have to pay an extra 50.00 just to get rid of the memory card I think that I would much rather just go with the 25.00 memory card.

I hate the Gamecube controller. The Xbox controller isn't too big. I have short, chubby fingers(I'm fat...), yet I find it perfect1 IF it's too big, then grab the Controller S! The Gamecube controller though, I grab that and I have to bend my hand in a wierd way to conform to the handle, and I have oine HUGE button with one JUST AS IMPORTANT, TINY one RIGHT NEXT TO IT. I find that so annoying. Plus the buttons get sticky and break a lot. That and the joystick can be moved SEVERAL MILLIMETERS before the game responds to it! Yes, the PS2 controller is awesome, and I like it much more than GC, but I still like XBox.
Okay, here's some more XBox things:
Perfect Dark Zero, the pre-sequal to Perfect Dark(when it comes out). Jedi Academy. Much much MUCH better version of SpyHunter(it looks like crap on GC and PS2). They actualy bothered to improve it for the Xbox! Then you've got GunMetal, MechAssault, and plenty of other games(I don't learn much or hear much about anything but the games I want the MOST). Make a list of reasons for the GC to own the XBox as good as mine. Also, it's made so that the controller doesn't come out too easily, yet if the cord is tripped on it doesn't pull the XBox off of whatever it's on. Its trigger buttons are ANALOG, instead of digital!
One last thing to say:
The GC is $99.99, while the XBox is $199.99, not "139.99", "239.99", though that does'nt mean anything good, and nothing bad. Just correcting you.

The PS2 is definutely my favorite controller because it was the first one that I had ever used and it fits the best in my hand and as for too many buttons on the gamecube controller there are far too many buttons on the x-box.

I'm totally with SP on this biggrin.gif Metroid/Mario/Zelda are like... part of some gigantic storyline, making it interesting... Much like a sequal to something, but doesn't end.

Not to be mean, but it's the price over here... Plus, as someone else said, you buy a gamecube, you get a controller, then you buy a memory card! Thats it! You buy a X-box (already AT LEAST 100 more $), then you buy a memory card ($$), then you buy more stuffs that I don't give a fck about to play online, then you play for the connection, then you... I mean, for "99.99", you can get MUCH MUCH more than with "199.99"

And unknown, not my fault if your fat and you can't get smaller controlers ;P. Not everyone are likz0rz j00.

I am unsure of which is my favorite, I used to think that GC owned all them, but then I bought a PS2, and I now own much more games for it than the GC. Also on the GC having the Zelda, Mario and Metroid series, that's not enough to buy it for. Then at the end of last year I bought a X-box, sure the GOOD game selection is pathetic, but it had great ports of Morrowind and Phantasy Star Online. Then theres Knights of the Old Republic, which is just an amazing game. I also really liked being able to put in my CD's and make custom soundtracks that can be used on many games. PC gaming may have a bunch of great games that consoles don't, but some of those are now being ported to consoles, and in much better form. I also really hate having to buy a new PC like every three years. Most consoles last around five to six years, and cost much less to buy than a new PC.

I have had my PC for 6 years now... Somewhere, it's your problem if your PC can't stand it. Your right about consoles, though, I still have my working Nes smile.gif

Would have my SNes if I hadn't sold it to my friend...

"And unknown, not my fault if your fat and you can't get smaller controlers ;P. Not everyone are likz0rz j00. "
That made no sense at all. I was stating that DESPITE my fattiness I can use the controller.
And I also stated that you can get the Controller S, which nullifies that argument.
XBox- The Controller comes with the XBox, and, again, you don't need a memory card!. It's got a hardrive! 5GB! That's almost half of my crappy computers Drive C!
As for the internet stuff... you must be talking about XBox Live. Who says you HAVE to pay for it? Only if you get it. Besidesm, it comes with microphone for chatting so you don't have to select characters like with the GC.

for x-box all i got is an extra controller and some more games.. what else do i need to buy that comes with the gc? i can play on internet without x-box live. anyway im not saying gc sucks because i have hardly played it but i say x-box owns smile.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SpaceBoy2000 on 2004-02-21 at 11:10:51
Here's one thing - spec wise, I don't think the potential of X-Box's processing power has ever been fully use. GameCube however, games uses it's limits, so that the hardware is built just right for games, as there isn't any extra hardware that is basically useless by games. I'm not making much sense, but bear with me.

The other thing is that most (read, most, not all) "good" X-Box games have, or is going to have ports to other systems, like GameCube or the PC. PS2 have the most selection of games because it came out first, and had more time for the games to be made for it.

QUOTE(Unknown_Being @ Feb 13 2004, 05:14 PM)
I'd have to say X-Box.  The reasons...
It owns GameCube(a.k.a. GayCube) because:
-It has a bigger controller.  The GameCube's is too small, even for someone with short, chubby fingers like me.
-More durable controller
-5GB(?) hardrive!!!!
-Halo, Halo 2
-MicroShaft bought up effing RAREWARE
-Controller has a better design/shape
Controller has 2 analog triggers(compared to GC 2 digitals and one more on the right), two joysticks with STICK buttons(compared to GCs to joysticks), 4 equally easy to use buttons(compared to GCs 4 wacky buttons), "back" button+start button(compared to GCs start button), White/Black buttons(compared to Gcs...  NOTHING)

Reasons it owns the PS2
-Again the controller, but it's a closer match this time!
-Again, the hardrive
-Again, Halo/2
-Again, Rare
-XBox Link Cables for 16 player LAN

Reasons it owns GBA
I'm not even going to make a list.  The GBA is a protable system, so all it can even have going for it is the games and portability.

Reasons it owns the PC:
-It doesn't, BUT it's a dedicated piece of stuff, meaning all the games can be made to totally MAX-OUT the Xbox's potential, and more than two people will be able to play them!

In all, I like the XBox most, then PC, then GC, than GBA, then PS2

Hey Unknown, the X-Box controller licks balls, who wants a controller that is bigger then your face because of the companys logo. The one thing I dont like about the gamecube controller is the C-Button stick, its too small. Halo, and Halo 2 are the only 2 games that are good for X-box, while gamecube has tones of awsome games. The X-box controller design sucks, it has carpell tunnel syndrom written all over it.

The ps2 controller is the best controller of all the systems, except the super nintendo. You can't use the hardrive against gamecube/ps2 because hardly any of the X-box games use it except for saving. Ps2 has a multi-tap, for up to 6 players to play at once.

X-box Live sucks hardcore. Not only do you have to pay 32.99cnd a month, you also have to have an existing internet connection. With the Ps2, all you need is the internet connection.

Now, no one can say I'm biased, because I've mastered the controls of every system, and I play all of the systems regularly.

It's not illegal. In fact, the people who made this even TALKED to nintendo and nintendo did not care. Go to www.warppipe.com and you will be ENLIGHTENED! Current games online: 1080, MKart, and Kirby's Air Ride. Super Monkey Balls 3 will be online when it comes out soon.

What me and SP are trying to say is that, we wouldn't want to pay 100 extra dollars for a memory card hardrive thing, and while the GC still needs one, it costs cheaper and is portable.

LOL! Microshaft, even the company name gets dissed! biggrin.gif Even as Controller type S is smaller, I find the black and white buttons in an odd place. Do we really want to fatten up Billy Gates pockets even more? One day the Cube will overrun the PS2 and the world will become a better place...

There are six buttons, four triggers, two analogs, and a control pad on the PS2 controller. I don't know how you got ten buttons.
