Kryptonite said exactly what I was going to point out...
A name is just something that people can identify with.
If you name your map RPG of Heroes, some people might take a look at it, but if instead you named it something like Dragonlance RPG or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles RPG, people are going to want to take a look at it, because it is something they have come to know and associate with and they will actually beg the host not to kick them so they can dl the map.

Also, you can have a really great story and mission briefing, but when it comes down to it, most people don't like to read the whole entire thing. In fact, people will actually curse at you if the mission briefing is longer than 5 seconds and you make them wait so you can read it. Some maps are hard to figure out, even if the concept is fairly simple... most of the time, all people really know about the game is what is in the title so I think just simple steps in the beginning of the game help. And if it's really really important, you have to make it so you display a text message first and then give a player his hero so he isn't caught up in trying to figure out everything for himself and just follow what the more experienced guys are doing.

Anyway, yea... I'm off to maybe work on my own RPG.

EDIT: Oh yea, cat & mouse is one of my favorites simply because it's so ... simple, yet fun to play. Also, I love games where you have to make people work as a team. Have you guys played the cat and mouse crystal wars?? If you look at the triggers, it's one of the simplest games, but it's the best CPU version of cat and mouse I've played which makes it fun for me. Personally though? I liked playing the cats.

Well, if you play my map TTA (The Tower Defence, Which I am still looking for! Tell me if anyone finds it!), you need to learn quick, because points are given out to the ones [Overlords] who can find the towers the fastest, take them over, and keep them! Also, I put in a couple of loops to send people through, like the towers are stuffed with marines of DEATH!!! MUHAHAHAHHAH, You can take over the tower still, but it takes skills! (By the way, if you play this map, don't take out the Marine, I have two reasons why not to do this, 1) The Marines jump back in, making it hard! 2) If a Marine goes too far from a tower, you loose EVERYTHING!!! These are my wise words of caution!) Well, anyway, just to make the map that much more complicated, in my newest version, their is a zergling making thing that never stops.

By the way, if someone plays that map and is a map maker, they will be SOO confused on how I did some things! It took forever to figure out how to make it so people could get towers, and have different units (Because you can upgrade them!)! It took so much time in making that map, so if you ever ask me why it is hard, it is because I made it that way!

On another map I made, Marine Rush, The game was just god damn plain simple (If you see this map also, tell me!). It was simple, a bunch of idiotic marines run towards the middle of the map and start attacking each other! I color coded things to make the map ezer, but anyway, the players are just hero marines and all they have to do is help their army (Same Color=Your amry) Win these just funny battles! In the last version I made, I added in a bunch of things, like the Marine Mutator! It changes 25/50 (Minimum, you can get up to 100 marines) into Zerglings, which were stronger! It was an easter egg, (as was how to get 100 marines, MUHAHAHHAHA) but I left it in because if you found it, you also found the other easter eggs! Well, no one understood that map, even when I gave advise while playing.

In the end, on these two maps I was able to train about 5 people each (who still love and enjoy those maps!). They are plain simple, it is just it matters how people look at them!
