Well, let's say I have this trigger in two different maps, one with zero wait, and one without.

Players: All
Conditions: Always
Actions: Add 1 Gas for Current Player
-Preserve Trigger

For every gas added in the non-zero wait map, how many gas would I have with zero wait? I'd really like to know the conversion.

You get about 12 (11.871) per second with hyper triggers. And standard trigger fire about once every 1 to two seconds depending on game speed. Oh fastest i think, It's save to assume hyper triggers are 15 times faster than the normal trigger.
