I think Protoss are the race with the most strategy potential. Whenever I play them I always find myself using unit combos, searching for hard-to-find weak points on enemy defenses, and desperately trying to use the awesome special abilities their units have in the best way possible, so I can inflict more damage to my opponent. Protoss rock.

Terran, no question about it.

Terran has cloaking, nukes, they can lift off, they have siege tanks, yamato, science vessels, medics, spidermines etc.

Chaos. Thats only because protoss are the easiest race to use. No offense but most noob and average players tend to use them because they are easiest to micro and are pretty straightforward.

But i think zergs are teh roxor. I tend to never use hydras for some reason. I just love to muta rush and go lurks. Speedlings are good to. But not on terran when he gets bats.

More units means more possibilities, to get over with my oppinion... So Terran would win.

Thought more spells also means more strategy. Protoss wins.

Though, again, more unit diversity and abilities are good too. Zerg wins.

What newbies do with terran:
Build battlecruisers
Build some more battlecruisers
Yamato other fellow newbies.
Build siege tanks
Build some more siege tanks
Siege other fellow newbies.
How to counter such terran players:
-With zerg: 6 scourges to 1 bc ratio, mass ground units against small group of tanks/air units against big groups (huge flanks of tanks can fry lings without stop)
-With protoss: scouts vs. bc (amazing sight), same strategy vs. tanks
-With terran: valkyries vs. bc, lockdown the tanks and/or optic flare them, newbs don't know what restoration is anyway

What newbies do with zergs:
Build hydras
Build more hydras
Mass their hearts out.
counter w/ protoss: disruption web, then send in some reavers
counter w/ terran: irradiate, marine/medic groups, spider mines
counter w/ zerg: plague, fight back with ranged attacks...
if player's REALLY newb, would use lings, just remember we were all newbs once (me, probably still am...)

What newbies do with protoss:
Build carriers
build more carriers
lag the game down (get booted)
counter with protoss: scouts, statis fields
counter with terran: emp wave, valkyries, wraiths even, goliaths
counter with zerg: scourge like hell
-or-
build scouts
some more scouts
less lag, better air attack, but they still damn newbs!
counter with protoss: dragoons, just NOT corsairs
counter with zerg: darkswarm over hydra
counter with terran: goliath missles, or plain old marine bullets


overall, zergs all very adaptive, in the case of hydras
protoss strong attack, look at zealot attack, like storyline their "psi" crap makes them strong overall but expensive as well
terran, our human cousins, use machines to compensate their body limits... overall terrans have many spells very damaging to other two races: emp vs plasma shield, irradiate vs. all-organic-zerg; terrans also have specific-use units: goliath- ground vs. air, tanks- ground vs. ground, wraiths and valkyries- air vs. air, battlecruisers, more or less air vs. ground, top it all off, nukes

lastly, some useful special abilities for the races nobody ever notices (or is it just me?)
plague, optic flare, statis field, feedback, hallucination

tips for special abilities: ensnare, statis, maelstrom don't work on burrowed units but do reveal normal cloaked units

question: would someone give me a detailed explanation of dark swarm?
so far i only figured that ranged (including air) attacks can't hit inside them, but if a ground ranged unit moves INSIDE the swarm and attacks it would hit?
