Lol the whole thing was a joke but wow. The whole topic was supposed to be a joke. You were supposed to suggest funny things about how starcraft would die:(. Lol its ok though this works. Actually starcraft will be like pacman but it wont be popular. wc2 is dead diablo is dead. Both happened because of sequal. I think sc2 wont ever come out. The i was thinking about a story line for so long and what they left it as sucked for a campaign. Warcraft storyline is so much better. I just have to say. Thats because starcraft has to be science fiction. Warcraft is fantasy and easier to work with. So yeah i think they will make a new game entirely. Which will be an rts. Starcraft will die within 3 years because the new game will be out ; ) [Die by having less than 5k people play it a day]

As long as people still host cash prize tournements, StarCraft won't die. I've been playing melee for 7 years, and I still love it.

QUOTE
Actually, starcraft will die as soon as Blizzard stops allowing us to enter their starcraft bnet servers for free 24/7.

If we get a new PGTour that won't be a problem... not that Blizzard will shut it down, since they still make a profit from Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft.

QUOTE
I dont get you people, your being very foolish. "As long as were around" will not keep starcraft alive. Were a staredit site with about 200 active members, if you think SC'll stay with that, wrong.

No, but it'll stay alive with about 200,000+ gamers who actually play the game.

Starcraft: Broodwar will die when Starcraft II comes out.

The Starcraft World will die when we die and/or Blizzard stops hosting B.net for Starcraft.

I seriously doubt it. StarCraft II will likly be as disapointing as WarCraft III.

StarCraft will die when all the hardcore gamers die =/

I for one will keep my '98 V 1.00 $75 StarCraft to the day I die.

Warcraft III wasnt a disapointment(To me at least[and many others who play it])

Let me rephrase that, WarCraft III's melee (like 1v1) was an embarrassment. It contains little stratagy and is completly straitforward. It's UMS on the other hand, has many fun maps, and was THE ONLY reason intelligent people still played, everyone just played their melee for a week, and move back to StarCraft playing UMS once in awhile on W3... everyone I know anyway.

It'll die when Blizzard takes more action against Third Party Programs (Like the SB incident) but actually begins to shut down them. Battle.net would crumble into a million pieces.

I also like the melee. Its extremely balanced. Not straitforward(you have to learn the structure plan and the units). I only play starcraft because i like mass units once in awhile. I also find the ladder system a little stressful(I dont like making my record suck) so play sum ums. The AMMS is awsome. And do you even play wc3?? Like really play it for at least like 5 hours(melee). Anyway.

Starcraft will die when...
A ghost accidently shoots a nuke at the wrong thing and kills it!!!.
or
Bob The Magic Hobo comes back

I did play W3, then quit, because it was too structured. Here's every game unless you cheese the opponent. Creep, attack, expand attack. And that's only if the game lasts past the first attack. Creeping just made that game really gay. You didn't play StarCraft to any extent. My friend played WarCraft melee for a year and said it just sucked, and that he was the most creative player on it. The system for finding games was good though (random games with player approximatly your level). But ultimatly worthless. I don't understand what you mean about massing units, but I'm guessing you mean Fastest map possible.

My point is... StarCraft > WarCraft III unless we're talking about UMS.

I also hate wc3 because of the graphics. It's too cartoonish and unrealistic. I prefer the 2d animations like starcraft where things at least looked realistic and not look like toys.
