That was extremely fast, l was idle in my channel when it was released, and when l went off to log on again, l had to download this patch. Naturally the first thing that came to my mind was the morph hack.

Wesmic, the stack glitch still works. Only the repair crashes were patched.

Mannar pylon?

lol, it's a term that us pro melee'ers know, you wouldn't get it, it's very complicated to explain and you only play money maps. smile.gif

"Manner Pylon- When you build a pylon in the middle of someone's mineral line so that the workers take much longer to mine because the pylon is in the worker's way"

Got it from Warboards.

I can announce that

Blizzard patched the SCV repair bugs. All other glitches, as far as I know, still work.

Blizzard probably also patched various hacks so that they are now impossible to remake, including the morph hack.

I tested the peon stacking, that still works normally....

This is great, a patch to fix exploits like hacks and glytches that cause crashes.

glytches? o_O

now we need ppl to test extended unit again!

Whatever.

Anyway, I'm surprised Blizzard did more than fix the morph hack. And yes, like said, the vauge-ness is funny.

Come on, tell us.
Deathknight, you shall be forever remembered for forcing Blizzard to release a StarCraft patch. You rock!

My hero list now has Deathknight on it. smile.gif

Thank you. This is a strategy, and now proves PsychoTemplar's stupidity.

Mannar Pylon (the glitch): Step one, get Probe in corner (Example: Between mineral block) Step two, create pylon right infront of probe. Because of worker ai, the probe with float ontop of the minerals until it finds a place it can stay.

ADDITION:
censored.gif you deathknight =D

ADDITION:
Want me to take an screenshot?

ADDITION:
I'll get a screenshot anyway, cause I have nothing better to do at the moment.

That's similar to the SCV flinging. Trying to patch that would probably really screw up the probes AI anyways, remember the 1.10 patch with Drones? >_<

That's not a glitch you newbie.

Neither is "SCV flinging".

You can't patch something that isn't a glitch.

Very important because on Coulee, it's the only way Protoss can actually scout.

Cause when Blizzard made StarCraft, they really intended probes to be able to float over stuff =-O
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-06-29 at 23:17:14
But they changed that. And now they can't. You have zero understanding about how Starcraft works. In order for them to "patch" it, they will have to disallow all units to be able to build on themselves, which would slightly ruin the game. Plus even if they did "prevent probes from building on themselves", then you could just take two workers, right click on minerals, tell them to stop, and you can get over.

i cant understand it from what youre saying..

not that its hard to understand, or im stupid, i just dont understand. (nt detailed enough??)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Chef on 2005-06-29 at 23:22:29
I thought they might be able to make minerals react like cliffs, so units couldn't float over them. Clearly I've only played the game.

No more MEMGraft for a while sad.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-06-29 at 23:29:42
No more memgraft period please.

EDIT: Unless they actually patched EVERYTHING.

EDIT2: I have just received information that the hover crash hack, sprite(addon) crash hack, and Probe build anywhere hack, are no longer possible.(good thing)

EDIT3: The crash hack that used a character to freeze your starcraft is also no logner possible.

Noooo! I just submitted an awesome 1.12b to the DLDB a few days ago, and blizzard has to go and release a new patch before the file gets accepted making it so I can't play that mod on op SeN. cry.gif
And what do you mean no more memgraft period? Memgraft is one of the most important tools modding has. Without memgraft your essentially limited to giving scvs shield! (You can't give them Yamato gun like I did).
I honestly don't care if memgraft is used to make the morph hack, modding is far more important to me then melee games, and honestly, the morph hack was just ruining comp stomps and not professional melee games on account of being too obvious. An undetectable map hack is far worse then this, because someone can use it to gain an unfair advantage in an important game and nobody would know it. The morph hack isn't worse, it's just more dramatic.
This patch doesn't fix hacks at all, the next map hack will be out by tomorrow. All this patch is doing is giving modders a hard time, and making so people like SI need to start all over again.

Good luck on getting the next version of memgraft out SI, and please please please don't decide not to update memgraft because of it's recently discovered capabilities.

Also, I played the morph hack single player against a computer, and discovered something really interesting, it didn't effect the computer. This means that this hackness could actually help us create some kind of mod where you don't have to implement SCEx for new units because you can use memgraft to differentiate units from themselves based on whether the person controlling them is a computer or a human player.
I'm not sure what kind of ideas could have come out of this, but giving the chance I would liked to have discussed this with other modders.
However before the patch came out I couldn't use the terms "memgraft" and "morph hack" in the same sentence.
Wait now that 1.13 is out I can use those terms in the same sentence... right?
please don't ban me

Thank god, Your buddy Agent_GOD always censored.gif ing did that shit to me, he's the biggest hacker I've ever seen, anyways, I just recently figured out that if you squelch the person they can't banmark you, but now I don't even have to worry about that. smile.gif
