The people who make blogs and websites about themselves dont get that nobody gives a crap about them or their opinion...

Which is why they should just keep it in Word or something and stop spamming their blogs every chance they get, and stop thinking people aren't just going to close a personal comments site the second they see ads.

I find it pointless to read them, and i think any1 who rights them wastes their time completly.

Wow, I couldn't read that whole thing, about half way through I started laughing my ass off... That sounds like the stuff Fela says, mabye that's part of the reason everyone dislikes him so much.

Blogs are for stuck up wannabe artists/intellectuals, or sissy losers that don't have the balls to and complain to ppl to their face. They got to do it behind their back on the internet of all places. We are all guilty of this in some way, but they do it much more than us.

There might be other types of sad people that use them too. But, I'm lucky enough to not read too much on blogs to know who they are.

Hate blogs so much they seem to have no purpose i mean if someone makes a website it gives out info on things or resources but blog is just something i cant even explain.

I can't say I've been this insulted for a while.

The blog that you linked to is a great example of people using blogs for the most inane things that nobody besides themselves care about. Not all blogs are like this - some are decent and some, like mine, are in between decent and rubbish. People may actually find my terragen gallery interesting - I know that I find others' galleries interesting.

My blog has the following features which make it 'not a steaming pile of horse manure:'

- It has relevant pictures.
- It has a decent layout.
- It has comments (OK, so the last one was from May...but still...I have around 20 in total). I wouldn't write a blog if it didn't get comments.
- My writing style is actually readable and doesn't require people to go 'WTF' and then re-read a line.
- I'm literate, unlike many bloggers.

It's true that I have a blog because I can't afford decent webhosting, but that doesn't mean that I put no effort in.

I love the way that everyone jumps on the 'Don't you just hate 'x'' bandwagon on this site. It's like everybody tries to conform with the first poster. If the first few people post in favour of the original poster's motion, then everyone else is scared into conforming.

Or so it seems.

I just shut up about my hate for blogs, and people with websites about themselves. Then when I saw this topic I was like YES!!

Why don't you just put a link here and let us decide? So a couple other bloggers comment on your site and you suddenly get an ego lift... You know what... it's probably a good idea you didn't post your blog, no one would click on the link, just thinking about it makes me yawn.

Yes, I dislike blogs which are all about a person's life...because, well, we're not interested in someone else's life, are we?

Unless they're close to you, of course.

I noticed just after I made my post. It's not like I log on SEN and ask myself "What are all those worthless little words below this guys signature... does he expect anyone to read them? I guess I'll read them anyway." I flipped to a random post and saw something about you babling on how your iPod isn't working just right and now you're pissed. That doesn't belong on the internet, unless it's on a site selling iPods. If you want to about your iPod do it with friends. Your blog is no better than anyone elses. It looks like you just wanted to write so you took whatever you could think of and put it on the internet... instead of say, wanted to write about something.

I'm not going to lie to you, if an article is pure opinion, no one will read it unless it's funny.

I find you charming, PsychoTemplar, I really do. The way that you display such thoughtful tact in your posts never ceases to amaze me.

But, anyway, I find it interesting that you singled out a post on the blog for being inane and pointless without glancing at any of the others. You warned against generalising in your debating thread, then engage in hypocrisy by acting like you are now.

I think PsychoTemplar overdid it when he tried to give a reason as to why he didn't see the link in your sig, I just get the feeling like he's trying to make it seem like he didn't really make a mistake. Probably just the way it was worded though:

But anyway, about the friends thing on blogs. On xangas I always see like 10000 subscriptions to other peoples xangas that they don't even know, and subscribing to another person's xanga means that they get an email when the person updates their xanga. I'm thinking wtf... how many emails do these people get.

Blogs are only sometimes entertaining when you just want to know about how someone's day went and you haven't had time to talk with them. Just when they talk about what they did, when they start :censored:ing then it gets retarded.

I'm not sure why they link to other peoples' sites either. Seems like a waste of time unless you know them.

To be honest, I'd prefer a proper website to a blog (they're more flexible because I can code it myself - w00t). Also, I could put my files up. Maybe I should start paying for some cheap-ass webhosting.

god, I went to MySpace and to the thing where you can check the people at your school. Everyone but about 3 were gothic/emo.

Well I have a blog, Cause most of my friend had one. Well 15 articles.. I don't have much to say using Word.. and It's a waste of time.. So I voted no.

If you actually read my views on generalization I said most of the time, but there are points where it's appropriate. I went to a random article, out of god knows how many on that page, it's fairly unlikly I'd get the only one that's a worthless piece of ****. You're one person, I expect you to write the same everytime you make a post. I feel justified in assuming most of your stuff is worthless, especially considering your posts on SEN. I can feel justified in generalizing that nearly all blogs are worthless because people who actually have talent will want to stick out.

Even if I didn't think your posts on that blog would all be just as bad you still don't have an excuse for posting worthless junk like that, and then expecting people to read it. It's your responsibility and you screwed up.

You know you don't HAVE to read those blogs right? Maybe people just want an online journal where they can share their thoughts and type them down

Clearly I don't read blogs, that's why I only read one of Captain's entries. If you want to know why I don't think they should be on the internet just grow a brain, I'm not answering.
