Number one: Time speed up (needs a new name). Basically, everything freezes and the One moves really fast. Or something similar.

Thats Bullet time.

QUOTE
Second ability, bullet dodge. Here, bullets can't touch the One as he dodges them. Although the time that he can keep it up will differ between levels.

I'll have 4 switches randomizing for this, it'll go:
Lvl 0 - Dont have it
Lvl 1 - 25% chance of dodging
Lvl 2 - 50% chance of dodging
Lvl 3 - 75% chance of dodging

QUOTE
Time dilation. Different because everything slows down, and maybe you have more micro management or something (need to work this one out).

Too simular to all the other ones tongue.gif

QUOTE
Yay to helicopters! Are there going to be guns and all? What unit will it be?

It'll have a weak gun (to prevent rigging) and theres going to be only one on the map smile.gif

Ah, but EVERYTHING will freeze. That includes other players, and all computer units. Maybe Smith will be able to move just as fast, I don't know.

By the way, 4 switches means 16 possibilities. Of you want 4 different possibilities, you use 2 switches.

And also, can you make it so that the unit of the one is the most "valuable" unit so the computer players will shoot at it automatically? An example of this is that a Carriers is more valuable than a Probe, so if those two show up, the computer will most likely shoot the Carrier first. Assuming tht it can attack air units of course!

Near the beginning, there will be ambushes on the one.

I'm glad you mentioned it cause i was wondering about that.

No if yoshi stickies it it would be considered abusing his power to promote his map. If I sticked it or some one else it would be like saying Yoshi's is better than the rest of us or saying that we will sticky everybodys thread in witch they discuss there plans for there maps.

Lastly Your issue with the bullet time. Well pardon my negitivity but it is things like this that make me feel that making a map based off the matrix is a bad idea. It is of my opinion that starcraft is not capable of immitateing the effects, of such a special effects intensive movie in any way to do it justice. Any success in this area would be unpractical or a streach of the immagniation. The triggers involved would be more "wow triggers" not something that would be functional for a game you would enjoy playing. I think possably one of your best ways out of your problems like this is to create something more newb like. Like for bullet time switch your unit to one with sheilds or heal the unit after several seconds of battle. Of course if my opinion bothers you I invite you to prove me wrong.

Assuming your going to go along with the Matrix story as well the revolutions story is going to be a tad difficult. Are you going to try to include all elements of the matrix movies?

Are you going to map out the entire matrix world. Like the machine city where the one has to go to defeat the smiths. Are you going to include broadcast levels and can you fly around the real world, and go to zion and such.

Are you going to include the oracle, and can you interact with other people jacked into the matrix? Like work together with other ships such as in reloaded and revolutions. Things such as the EMP. Is it really essential to be jacked in? Can you just screw around on the ship?

I want to know how much will actually be focused on the matrix or the machine world. Not to mention you have to make sense of the theoritical part of revolutions as well.

I see what MA is on about, how close will this map be to the actual movies, in the scenes used and the transmissions, will it revolve on certain areas or cover as many as possible. I think the best idea would to make it almost like a campaign, and go through the major scenes one map at a time, so that you can really focus onto them!

Reminds me of Warcraft 3's hero ability system.

Exactly. If this thread dies, it has the same chance of everyone elses happy.gif

Yes. Its going to be simular to the matrix storyline, with a few addons and removes. I'm taking out most of the talking parts and scenes that dont have any user interactivity, and at the same time I'm adding on to some of the orginal story line.

QUOTE

I wanted to make "outside the matrix" and flying around, unfortanately there isn't enough room in the map to do that, we're using the entire map basically for the city. The closest thing to outside the matrix is when you get back on the ship where you upgrade etc

I'm still considering what to do with the last part. I WANT to make the end where the one must defeat smith as fast as possible, because the players at the same time are defending zion with goliaths. I'm wondering if I'm going to have enough room to do that.

This will be based upon mainly the story inside the matrix. Most outside of the matrix will be cut out - There simply isn't enough room on the map for me to do anything big with that tongue.gif

why dont you turn this into a camp. that way there be 1 map 1st matrix

2nd. 2nd matrix
3rd. 3rd matrix

and make a city as a bonus map. when you can just fly around and do fun things,
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2004-04-25 at 13:17:55
Actually, this is only supposed to be one big map.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Clokr_ on 2004-04-25 at 19:02:38
Is not possible make a map bigger than 256x256 ;P
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mini Moose 2707 on 2004-04-25 at 21:09:50
It's not possible to make a playable map over 256x256. wink.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-04-25 at 21:12:47
hmm. that whould be cool if sc2 could make a biggmap like 300x300 lol
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2004-04-25 at 21:28:07
Actually, 300x300 isnt possible. The next level up is 512x512.

How will you handle one on one kung fu? It'd be kinda boring if the units just stood their and attacked one another while their HPs held out. Maybe you could use the dropship (or a factory, which would be faster for selecting options) to activate various punches, kicks, blocks, etc., and you can get a chance to deflect the opponent's punches, kicks, etc. preemptively if you select the correct option corresponding to their move, which would be displayed as an arrow or symbol on screen before they actually do it. And of course, bullet time could be used to slow down your enemy's moves to give you more time to react to them.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2004-04-25 at 21:38:23
Thats a great idea. I could do a bit of both.

I should have the regular attacking until HP holds out, and there will be another dropship that handles the moves (jumping, super punches etc)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-04-25 at 21:39:21
very good idea!!!

when do you think you will release this?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mini Moose 2707 on 2004-04-25 at 21:40:37
It might take awhile. According to the progress indicator in his signature, he's only at negative 10%.

ROFL! Deathknight hasn't even given me the map yet (he said he'd be done on friday, never came online) thus i haven't been able to do any real work on it.

Ooo, and don't forget the various punching, kicking, slapping, #####-smacking, and grunt sounds that go with each fight. wink.gif

Report, edit, etc...Posted by Tuxedo Templar on 2004-04-25 at 21:55:50
Naw, just play random slapping and hitting sounds when two units are up close (mute unit speech so you can't hear their in-game sounds) and the grunt noises when hits are landed.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2004-04-25 at 21:57:04
