But I do feel that in a society as strict as mine would be, to not have basic knowledge such as what "variables" in math are, or what thermal expansion is by age 12, you're apparently not learning fast enough, don't want to learn, or something similar, and are unnecesary.
Of course, exceptions would be made for those that excel enough in one area enough to make-up for a general ignorance, or who make-up for it with enough physical strength.
There would actualy be several tests, totalling eight, throughout their life.
And the requirement would only be that they can succesfully pass one of the standardized tests within half a year of the day they're original supposed to take such the tests.
