1. sun factor where clouds cover the sun making "dark spots" and if your tree is in the "dark spot", then it loses life or something
2. natural disaster factor like tornadoes coming at you and you cant do squat because you're a tree and you want the game to be realistic
3. outside world and interior area, like a ship's hull except it's a tree's insides, with ant colonies, squirrel nests and stuff like that
4. night time where you had to acquire at least a certain amount of energy from the sun to survive through the night
5. seeding? you spread your seeds to make more trees?
6. roots should be automatic and going to nearest regular water source, so your roots will most likely look different each game and for each tree
7. annual wildlife competition where your tree competes in a friendly community competition. this includes the squirrel jumping contest, where you have to control your never stopping squirrel making it jump from branch to branch until it falls, the pie eating contest where your ants must eat a whole pie and the first set of ants who eats their pie wins, the rabbit chase where your birds hunt down one specific rabbit out of hundreds, the leaf control contest (during fall) where your tree must prevent itself from letting go of all its leaves, and finally a hide and seek contest where you hide any of your animals and a human representative, who has nothing better to do than do favors for trees, will seek those animals.
8. seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter

i think a sim trees will be a good map to play, gl kow

Too bad you cant have map revealers create and uncreate, or at least center.

Maybe have a fixed cloud pattern, resetting each night.
