Ligers are large enough they could actualy hold people on their back...

It's thought that ligers get so huge possibly because they recieve the male lion's growth-promoting genes but lack the female's inhibiting ones, which would be why tigons, with male-tigers and female-lions as parents, don't grow so gigantunormongous.

In fact Tigons are miniature.
