How can flaming affect someone's life?! Wtf?

Spam is only worse because you can't squelch posts on a forum.

I consider them the same thing

its a flame..yet its also a spam becuase its most liekly not related to the topic at all

Spaming is more anoying because it fills text boxes and makes it hard for convos.

Depends on what they spam or what they say when flaming.

Overall, I hate spam.

Also, sometimes flaming requires more thought.. just too much of "Your wrong" "You farking noob" "Go eat a sock" "See, I am right" "Fark You!" etc.

I voted spam including Starcraft. Because on that, the spam actually pushes the important posts off the screen!

spamming is worse because flaming usually ends when the 2 people quit talking to eachother (lasts longer online) but spamming goes on and on even bleeds over into games and b-net in the form of bots if i had a dollar for every "come to clan _____ for awsome gaming!!!" people wouldnt call me a poor little man anymore.... sigh......

It depends, some people who take forum rules, or their favorite game way too seriously get really offended and makes them not sleep at night (I know from personal experience ). Like if the flame is like totally putting you down making your ego filled head rapidly deflate, then yeah flamming is worse.

spam and flaming are both bad. Spamming in games (starcraft, and diablo2) are quite annoying, especially when bots do it. They just say random things and make it hard to concentrate when the lines are all over the screen. Flamming is also very bad because it is actually a person saying it to you... And did you know that words hurt, especially if you ponder on the words of the flamer for a long time...

I'm not sure why we need to argue over what's worse, it doesn't warrant any sort of intelligent or notable discussion. There is no creativity in the topic.

But if I must, spam is much more direct in most cases and obvious then flaming. Flaming doesn't really do anything over the internet at the least.

IMO, flame is worse. Although both can be ignored fairly easily, Spam is unlike Flame in the way that it doesn't try to hurt, insult, or offend you.

Spam is more harmful to the internet, and flame is more harmful to people.

Flaming is definitly worse, spam can even be fun sometimes after all.

hmm, if someone is talking about something ON-Topic, and then some noob comes up and says something really stupid and no where near what the thread is about...that is just bad...if you flame someone, isnt it better than saying something like I LIKE PIE... spam is stupid. but if you look at flame...you can see they are similar. flame: being mean, being rude, etc. spam: very stupid statement that is unnessary...

Some people just have a need to spam. SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM...all over my friend's email. With the exception for "disrupting the boards", it's all done in good fun.

Flaming is a learning opportunity, and a chance for you to completely give the virtual smack-down to the flamer with your superior sense and wit. HA!

I think flaming is worse because flaming gets nothing done except annoys people and is just mean. Pretty much spamming does the exact same thing except the mean part.

Overall both suck.

Spamming i think is worse as well. Flaming you can deal with and laugh being they think there making an impack on what you are doing or w/e. Spamming can continuesly come and piss you off. SO i think its worse.

Here are my thoughts:

- Who does spam affect? Noone.
- What does spam do to you? Nothing.
- Who does flame affect? You.
- What does flame do to you? Hurt you, insult you, provoke you.
- If you say Flamming can be ignored, so can Spam. Why should you care more about spam than flame?
- Spam takes up space on the internet. So does Flame.
- Flame and Spam are both unnecessary things to post or say, but flame has a negative purpose.
- Normally Spaming just makes us look down on someone. Normally Flame makes us angry at someone. You'd rather look down on someone than feel angry.

Spamming makes me angry when somebody has posts like the one below, which will end up being a cumulative post or something
