Staredit Network -> Games -> PSP vs DS

Seriously.. Nintendo is much more creative than the other companies, they just get a bad rep, and I think they get it for stupid reasons.

I agree with dorkawk... the PSP has all OLD features... movies... games... music... all been done before... The DS has a TOCH screen... I have never seen that on a system before... just because nintendo is better because they experiment with new things doesn't mean the DS is bad...

DVD Player, Gameboy, Ipod. But amazingly you can't play DVDs on your Ipod, or movies on your gameboy. Just putting them all together for a lower price then if you bought an IPOD, DVD Player (Portable) and GBA.

QUOTE
ADDITION: Where would the PSP be today if Nintendo wasn't experimentsing... The PSP just used nintendo's adivce from ALL the previous gameboys and made it under their name...

The same place? Notice how it didn't take any pointers from Nintendo at all? They basically made a Ps2 controller with a screen, and a crappier analog disc. Everything they did a Ps2 can already do anyway (Besides Music that is).

Because DS cant go anywhere with its graphic's well atleast for now all of its games had such "eww" graphics. Btw we all know Revelade is a nintendo fan so cant beat that pinch.gif i mean look at his avatar and he aruges to much...

In the other hand PSP has so much more neat stuff, you know you can program your psp...

Also no really the graphic has the biggest difference ever... DS is pretty much little less of N64 with touch pad.

PSP is little less of PS2 but just hella tight.

Also the games DS has the same game nintendo cant get over it without making the same game over and over.
PSP also have much longer list of games being made. You guys can go out buying DS trying to save that $50 but seriously it aint worth it.

Tell you the truth if you want real gaming just dont get both go get like a xbox360 or something. These 2 portable gameboy arent worth your money especially the DS

Okay then, gaming on the DS is better because of the touch screen, a new feature never used by any other game system/console/portable. Knowing Nintendo, they will be creative and incorperate the touchpad into their games. The PSP is just like the PS2, most of the games on PSP are on the PS2. Sure, having a PSP is cool, with all of its features, but in the end, in the gaming section, it's just a portable PS2 with crappier graphics and crappier controls.

Defending what you think is good at not good does not mean he argues too much. It's just he looks towards the games you don't really know that much (Except maybe Counter Strike) I would consider these games "underground" it just so happens a lot of people dislike these games, so he has a right to defend them. It's not like all the games he gets are for Gamecube, just that the games that appealed most to him were on Gamecube, so he got that. I believe he also has a Ps2.

I'll defend this before someone picks it out. Just because most of these games are remakes, does not mean they're not good, if I have a chance to play games on my Ps2 anywhere I go, I'll take it.

You mean that touchpad that they use for, gasp THE CAMERA! Oh how about selecting units instead of just tapping the D-Pad, how creative. It's just a more complicated way of doing something simple, depending how you look at it. Let's not forget the microphone either, cause they use that SO often.
Sure DS has potental but as of right now that creative stuff they added to it, they aren't using the best of it.

Crappier graphics, well duh, it's a portable, plus the DS isn't really new awesome guru graphics anyway, PSP's are x2 better then DS'. Crappier controls? You can't really fit two analog sticks onto a portable, they're not THAT crappy anyway, it's like playing all your games with the D-Pad instead of Analog stick, it's not that different. Also having a portable Ps2 it better then a Portable N64.

Maybe Nintendo will find a way to use the DS as a controller or something for the revolution, don't ask me..
Sure the DS hasn't been used to perfection, but I'm sure Nintendo will think of something.

Technically Golden or OKAGolden, the new Ipods can play videos. It's like a more expensive PSP, except it can't play games. I understand what you mean about the PSP playing movies, but these are actually UMDs. I just wanted to point this out before somebody decides to buy DVDs to play on their PSP.

Anyway, when it comes down to it, graphics, touch screens, movies, music, battery life or whatever doesn't matter. These are just additions, not what games are.

What does matter is if the console has the games YOU prefer. Perhaps you enjoy GTA action or Gran Turismo racing games, then the PSP would be for you. Say you like Advance Wars strategy games or platforming Mario games, get a DS.

Whatever games you prefer can NOT be argued. If you like dog food more than steak, anyone can give you reasons why steak is better, but we can NOT choose what you like for you. That is the power that you possess.

Nobody has to swear allegiance to any company. It is just a matter of picking the games you like the best. That's why I gave away my DS, because the library did not interest me, as much as the critics did with their 90% or whatever scores. Conversely, the games on the PSP do not interest me either.

I just want you guys to understand 3 things:

- Your opinion applies to yourself and only yourself, therefore it, itself can not be used in an argument.

- You can't FORCE people to join your cause, because that's THEIR choice. You can however, give reasons why they should.

- The game library should be considered when buying a system, more so than the graphics, battery life, touch screen, mumbo jumbo.

You can upload Movies to your memory stick and play movies as well. Gotta say the big memory stick cost a lot but you can get songs and movies and switch them around depending on where you go. Also PSP has wifi as well. DS just got the capability a few days ago thats all. But I agree i think DS does have more people on wifi atm but once better games just comes out for PSP not saying there isnt but better online games. Also its just that I really dislike the graphic of DS and also is new features doesnt seem to be so great when it comes to some games.

you do know that the PSP uses WiFi AND can connect to other PSPs without any other hardware(AD HOD mode)

and you cant say games are crappy because they have bad graphics....pong is the most played game EVER(along with pacman) and they have shizy ass graphics....

The Ds has much more potential in terms of different things you can do. But the PSP accels at the graphics departement, giving the handheld a stronger feel. The PSP is just a handheld version of the PS2, but now it had a build in mp3 player + a umd player, o wow! You can get an mp3 player and a portable dvd player and a nintendo ds for lower than the psp! There goes the price. Loading times, Ds has none. More time to play in the middle of the night. Wifi, the core of potential. Without, it would die like the vitual boy did before it. I'll stick with my DS, did you check the up and coming DS games in your latest nintendo power reveblade? (Now I'm assuming your a nintendo fanboy, like I am, to the point where I will boo and ad of sony in a theatre. I'm evil.) smile.gif

No you can't.
Portable DVD player = $150
MP3 Player = $200
DS = 150$
That's 200 more then a PSP.

You just admited being a fan boy meaning you'll never change your opion. REVELADE is not a nintendo fan boy he just gets what appeals to him most. If he has a avatar that has an only gamecube game, doesn't make him a nintendo fanboy. It just happens that most of the games that he likes are on Gamecube. He also has a Ps2, and he doesn't have a DS or PSP (If I remeber correctly).
And Psp has online too.

Coming from the person that said the graphics should be getting a 1.
Those are probably the only 2 Final Fantasys you've played anyway.

lol i agree with Golden, buddy FF10 had the sickest Graphics..and it changed the way we look at FF, Voice Acters...that alone made the game insane.

Actually Golden, if you were to rate the games graphics today, they should probabaly get a one, but somebody gave them a 7 in the last month.

BTW, I've played most of them, I've used an emulator called "Bleem!" to run them on my computer.
It just so happened that those two had the best storylines and gameplay...
I've always been a fan of "TBS" or whatever FF7 is.. I used to play a game named "Beyond the Beyond" for the PlayStation, which was a pretty good game.

ALSO, I've played FF10, sure the graphics were great, it just isn't as capturing as the other ones.

And just so you know, I've played both FF7 and FFTactics about a year ago, and they were both fun, even though I had could have played games with much greater graphics on my XBox.

buddy i still play FF7,8,and 9 today. graphics mean nothing to me for FF games, i look for the story line..which ff8 is lacking in my eyes.
