Game addicts? What do you think about them?
Are you one?

Later, post more
meaningful threads...
I'm not an Game Addict, Game Addicts are usually newbs or 1337 and I don't get the first question.
I'm not a game addict, i'm a game expert ^_^
Ooh! You got fried! >.<
I'm not addicted to games, no, not me!
This totally offends me as i am a game addict and cannot live without an hour of good game at least once a week. Yes I know the game is bad and is bit addictive, but it shouldn't be considered as a drug... Some kids may be overreacting but it shoudlnt be such a big deal.
I can stay off console games, but the PC is A DRUG! I switch from Warcraft 3 to CS mostly and a lil SC occassionally. Gaming really isn't as bad as my foruming however.
So now, I'm playing my console games only to BEAT them, so I can say they were NOT a waste of money.
I've deleted WC3 and as for CS... I'll moderate it.
Yea well some of us ARE addicts... And they live among us.. cant live withem, cant live with out em
Alright If you guys REALLY want to talk about game addicts, look at asians and WoW or Everquest.
Here a couple of scenarios that have really happened:
A guy went into a local video game playing pub and played WoW for three weeks straight. That's not that bad right? Well during his 3 week WoW marathon he forgot about his 4 month old son at home. The child died.
Some guy played a game for 50 hours STRAIGHT (no food, sleep, etc) when his family finally found him he said, "ok just let me finish this part and I'll come home." ...... he died soon after.
Everquest sweatshops - During Everquests peak, some addicts would even buy strong characters that had everything unlocked on ebay. So some guy paid kids meager amounts of money to play Everquest in a small room. He rallied up a bunch of kids and had them all raising strong characters. Then he sold these characters on ebay and made thousands.
well, i just got WoW, and because of school i dont play it much, so that sucks, but my brother plays it. hes a real bum now, hes 24, lives with his parents, has a job at the equilivent of a wal mart, and now he plays WoW from the time he wakes up, to the time he goes to work, and from the time he comes back from work to the time he goes to sleep (around 3)...
I used to be a huge game addict. I would play games for like ever. Then i decided it's time to stop, so i took my razor and scratched the cd so i could never play it. So yea, now i don't play that evil game anymore, and i'm not on internet that much. I'm usually at school for workouts or football/wrestling practice. So if anybody wants to stop being addicted. Take the razor to ur disk!
Dude, don't waste a CD like that, lend it to a friend, sell it, dont ruin it!
I occasionally think about a game, especially puzzles, at school or various events I attend. Puzzles, I mentioned, since they have solutions, I get stuck and ponder on possible solutions. I sometimes dream about solutions, but it mainly seems to be with the puzzle games.
Yeah, Kow shortly after scratching it up i realized that i could have just sold it or something. But i was really getting annoyed with myself, sort of like how a smoker knows smoking is bad, but cant stop. Yeah, puzzles are fun to do from time to time. Bleh i once tried the crossword in the news paper. It took forever. Although i do like those games where its like the squares with numbers, and you can only have 1-9 in each box/column/row and no repeating, they usually keep me entertained for a while. I just dont want to end up out of college having games effect my personal life.
I know what you mean. I seriously doubt, in college, I'll have many games, as that's all I'd do in my spare time (apart from a job). I'd never study, never do homework. Right now, I'm just enjoying being a kid, but even now, I have school responsibilities that my computer and pure laziness (from corporate american public schools mind you) prevent me from doing. My grades are failing due to this. None of my teachers press the issue of homework except for my AP United States history teacher, and that might be my highest grade (besides databasing, which comes naturally to me anyway). In fact, I'm supposed to be doing my APUS homework now.
