Staredit Network -> Lite Discussion -> FireFox over Internet Explorer?

Internet Explorer does not want to block the pop-ups. Microsoft wants you to buy there programs for you to get the pop-up blocking from them. 90% of all of the people that use the internet and use internet explorer don't even know of the other web browsers that exist. Microsoft is here to make money, not satify people but yet they sometimes do it also. I am with Opera and I find that to be the best but that it only my opinion.

[sub]Fx is the correct way to abbreviate Firefox, not FF.[/sub]

I don't think it really matters. I would say the same thing for FF just for the fact of F=Fire and F=Fox.

Finally, someone knows that Fx is the proper way! Yay!

Opera>FireFox

Firefox likes to eat your memory for lunch. Opera is the fastest browser out on the internet today. I don't get why people don't get it. It has popup blocking and ad blocking, tabs, and mostly everything else Fx has, along with it taking up less RAM and getting better speeds.

It can be a little annoying sometimes... although it is awesome, I love Opera.

My Anti-Spyware program came with a Pop-Up blocker. I use IE and no pop-ups whatsoever biggrin.gif

Firefox's memory consumption isn't too bad... except for the fact that occasionaly it'll go up in the hundreds of MBs... disgust.gif

So, what is the difference between Opera and FireFox?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Valug on 2005-12-03 at 18:02:54
[sub]Firefox is orange, Opera is red. Thats about it.[/sub]

Lol...

So, it's just one of those "My opinion is better" kind of things.

I'll DL Opera give it a test drive and see what I like more.

Im a Dial-up user too, i noticed FireFox was much more faster than IE. I got sick and tired of the slow waiting times for IE. I'd prefer FireFox any day.

Tabs are just the new thing! Oh man noting like browsing different pages with just one window! Nothing could be faster than tabbing 10 windows you just opened cool1.gif

Are you sure? How do you do it? For Fx its simple Alt+tab.

ALSO you should know that firefox includes alot of pop-up blockers and minor antiviruses STANDARD that IE doesn't come with.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kow on 2005-12-05 at 23:20:59
On Fx, you just have to wheel-click and it opens a tab. Just right now, I have school closings up.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KrAzY on 2005-12-05 at 23:22:30
Don't be too sure, google, yahoo, msn and will be a 3rd Party for Pop-up blocking for IE.

Um, not Alt+tab... Tabs as in, you use the same window while in more than one website at a time. For an example:

QUOTE(Tabs)
[ Staredit Network ] [ Blank Page ] [ GameSpot ]

each [ ] is a tab, you click that, it shows the website while the other can load or stay idle.

oops.. I meant ctrl+T... but you should have known what I was trying to say closedeyes.gif

So how do you tab in IE?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ultimo on 2005-12-06 at 00:08:45
Tabs is basically the only reason I use firefox. I'm missing out on cool name effects because of this fx. ;(
