I turn my computer off and on constantly.
Actually I turn it off whenever I am not using it. So on average about two hours or so.
Does restarting count as it being off? Because its just shutting down everything, then starting it back up without ACTUALLY turning off.
I leave it on 24/7 for my clan. Without my bot being on, they would all run away. (For some reason just having that little "Clan[O]" there keeps everyone in one place, even though it does absolutely nothing)

My parents has been on for 3 years.
I know my longest uptime is about 3 weeks because i left it on while I was on vacation while it was d/ling 100000 movies and raondom tv shows. It also was extracting the movie from 2 dvds. My comp originaly had 60 gigybytes free, when I came back that was reduced to 25.

[sub]My old comp had no fan, I managed to use it for 10 minutes before having to let it cool down for like an hour. So I got to use it for about 30 minutes a way.[/sub]

Mine did that, so I just put a regular rotary fan behind it and it worked fine
Mine would ALWAYS be on if parents didn't turn it off. My internet constantly cuts off, so that isn't a good way to measure for me
System uptime 0 days, 21 hours, 33 minutes and 36 seconds
For the record, it's

You all are crazy leaving your computers on for that much time constantly. I always leave the computer at 10PM and on a day without school, I'll usually turn it on at around 11AM until 10PM in which I go do something else. During school days, I come home at about 6PM~7PM turn it on, and turn it off at 9PM.
I always turn it off when I'm going to be away for more than 25 minutes, I have it auto shutdown in acse I forget.
Having a fan won't do shiz to the circuits by having them on for that much time. It will eventually malfunction. All a fan does is prevent the computer to overheat too fast. You can't do anything about the amount of amperes passing through those currents that tear and wear those wires. Electricall current is a physical process in which electrons flow through atoms, you will have friction.
Also, your hard drive wil eventually screw up. A hard drive has mechanical parts, like the spinning disk and laser, having those constantly moving will cause them to wear out.
If you aren't using the PC, shut it down completely.
That's why my computer is 4.5 years at works at about 95% like if it was new. I've clocked it to the original standards, all that I've lost is from 1.6Ghz to 1.59Ghz. My other comp, which is abou 1.25 years has lost much more power because it's almost always on.
Screw breaking the record about how much time your comp has been on, try to conserve stuff. You don't leave the car on while you are sleeping, don't you?
System uptime 12 days, 0 hours, 37 minutes and 59 seconds, connection uptime 0 days, 0 hours, 0 minutes and 2 seconds.
Most I had was around 30 days last summer, I'll find the exact quote in a sec.
i dont think i have ever turned my comp off...wow ....
Meh, Beer, I have a crappy laptop, it's okay if I wear it out, because I have two BETTER laptops waiting to be used!
Longest I've kept my computer on is 24 hours.
don't like keeping it on when i don't need to.

According to what you say, my computer shouldn't work at all, yet it goes by fine from me resting my legs on it ALL THE TIME, playing games like Call of Duty 2 most hours it's on, playing music, and doing a whole lot of other crap. But somehow it works perfeclty fine and has 0 problems.
Why would you wanna keep your computer on for 9 months?
The longest i have ever had mine on was like 2 days.
Is it even possible to keep the computer on for 9 months? Wouldn't the computer get overheated after a week or so?
I only restart every now and then.. otherwise its on. (And this computer is almost as old as me
)
I use my computer so vigorously, that if i dont shut it down every 2 days or so, it will crash. Stupid windows.....

Of course it's possible, but if you get some cheap ass piece of crap computer, or a bad fan of course it will overheat. And as I said before, 2 years and running. Hell my computer is on right (Currently I'm posting at school, Microsft Office class, I finished the assignments a few minutes ago)

Tis why you get decent fans.
My computer will occasionally freeze and I get imatient and shut it down (forcebly if needed) or if I press it just right (or stick headphone plug into the USB jack) it will crash.
Roffles, is that a joke Kow? -_-
No, in fact, I pressed the CD tray in (It's a laptop) and I crashed.
I taped it uber shut so now it won't jostle.
Roffles, my laptops cd drive fell out, it was funny!
Laptops sucks
I love laptops! I can take them into my bed and... play games on them
It's just not a sturdy one. I think it started when I brought magnets near it and the monitor shut off...
My laptop has no batteries, and it's source of power, is a 16v adapter, when the computer needs an 18v one. It works fine, but it's loose, so only a small movement will shut it off right away.
I'm going to check in with Alienware today to see what can be done.
Striker X 22's online time. He's at a college computer, so yeah.
