I'd say fight to find a solution and neither deny nor announce the existence of it. Don't mention it, and remove any links. We should never under any circumstance support the program or supply a link to it.

If it becomes necessary, we can mention that a flawless unprotector has indeed been made, but make sure it doesn't get linked to.

You do realize that I will not be able to further map protection without extensive research on how this unprotector program works and how SC reads maps (still for more protection methods).

I don't know many others who are still working on protection methods. I'm pretty sure none of them are actually making any programs.

I don't know how long we'll be able to censor this program. And I don't know if this will be the end of protection or not.

I don't know if this guy will update his program. I don't know how well he knows protection.

There are many factors in this war and most of them we don't have knowledge of.

A search for "stacraft osmap" on google turned up this, which is apparently the author of the program.

Grab the pitchforks and torches and follow me!

Entropy posted OSMAP on pgtour.net. Now it's DEFINATELY going to fall into the wrong hands. Not only into the UMS world, but the bigger melee world as well.

But it's primarily a threat only to the UMS world.

These are portal news so normally people don't comment much, but they do get read quite a bit.

I tried to unprotect my World of Starcraft 2 with the latest version and got a "Run time error '6': overflow" error. I am very sad. sad.gif

On the bright side, it was protected simply with PROEdit, so apparently the unprotection is still a hit-and-miss gimick.

To PCFredZ: It worked. .. (Liar!)

I think this program does what Moose thinks it does. sad.gif

It didn't work for me, don't know why. Can you send me the unprotected version though? I kinda need it lol.

1.3.0.0, maybe. Can't remember, it was a while back. 1.3.0.0 is the version I have right now anyway.
