Sorry, that's what I meant when I said 'helping', and with that said, my point is still valid.

And when you expect something in return (be it affection, admiration, pride, glory, etc.) for your "good" deeds, you will often find disappointment. True kindness is a very high level mindstate and teenagers who think they are being selflessly kind are kidding themselves. They are only doing it for the sake of their ego.

You know what they say: "Pride only hurts."

Well to sum things up just dont do this.

SUICIDE

It reacks relation ships, families, friends and others who care. People who normally do that just feel that there life sucks and wanted to end it earlier then everyone else. Just like that one time on that simpsons episode were grampa was planning aided suicide. It just a terrible thing that cannot be expressed.

Other things that go along with that is drugs and alcohal. It like a hidden emotion that wants you to do something that you know that is wrong. Just like what Kow said. If you have hard times talk to someone you trust. They can help over come teen depressioncy. Just remember that when your 18 your free.

Causing ending a life without first discovering it is terrible. You can drive cars, design a new bike and anything else. Find a hobby that best suits you and work on it till those inner feelings are dead like when fenix got pwned by kerrigan. Just remember there is more to life then things you might expect.

And besides what if a person commited suicide only relising that blizzard released some kind of new starcraft. Irony eh?

Ya I agree, friendships last a lot longer than relationships!  But like everyone is mad at me for even thinking about breaking up with my girlfriend.  My family and stuff, but I think I could just try and fix this problem for now and just keep it the way it is!

When your 25-35 years old, how much time should you have for friends? In my opinion very little. When you go to jail for something, will your friends bail you out? Hell no. Its your family that matters. However if we're talking about the kind of "LOOK I HAVE A GF IM BETTER THAN YOU!' relationship then no, those wont last.

But still, i think we share the same teenage depression. You ever feel like there's something big missing in your life? Again, its probably just a phase for us. It will end soon... i hope...

ADDITION: I remember being depressed one day, went out for a walk, and a homeless guy came up to me and said "If your going through hell, dont stop, or you'll end up worse than me" Every time im depressed i remember that day.

Interesting, to say the least...

But yes, I'm trudging it out. Been trying things out (nothing illegal, mind you), looking for something that might make me happy.

Yesterday I went up into the attic and laid down on one of the planks and just rested for about an hour. It was really warm up there, and very windy outside, and I felt good for a while. Not a clue why, but whatever.

Having depression doesn't mean that a person is weak, or a failure, or isn't really trying... it means they need TREATMENT.

Most people with depression can be helped with COUNSELING, provided by a professional psychologist, and some are helped with Counseling and Medicine.

COUNSELING, or psychotherapy, means talking about feelings with a trained psychologist who can help you change the relationships, thoughts, or behaviors that are causing the depression. Think about it, you feel depressed because you think your life is bad. What if you're wrong? What if you're missing all the good things around you? What if your future holds a lot more promise than you think? When you're depressed, you're in a rut, and you can't see anything good. You need to talk to someone who can help you get out of that rut! Don't wait, ask your parents, or your school counselor for help today.

MEDICINE is used to treat depression that is severe or disabling. Antidepressant medications are not "uppers" and are not addictive. When depression is so bad that you can't focus on anything else, when it interferes with your life in an overwhelming way, medication might be necessary, in addition to counseling. But most often, counseling alone is sufficient.

With treatment, most depressed people start to feel better in just a few weeks. So remember, when your problems seem too big and you're feeling low for too long,

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Medicine doesn't help crap.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Cruzo on 2006-06-19 at 18:53:02
Medicine will help you for a short period of time. That is why they have prescriptions so that you can keep getting refills.

I'm not saying it cures it or anything, but it may help. I'm just trying to throw some solutions out for this kid.

Medicine treats the symptoms, not the cause of the depression (unless its cause is a chemical imbalance, I suppose).

But if you're losing your shirt in a divorce to some cock-blocker exwife, the drugs aren't gonna make that problem go away.

Women don't make you happy. Women are attracted to you because you are happy.

Heh.

Girls see right through that. Trust me, I've done it my whole life. And all my chick friends know when I'm down, even though I'm acting happy.

True dat.

Shapeshifta...

That laying on the planks of wood thing is kinda like what I've done when I'm pretty freaked up. I just end up like resting on the floor...I've found pretty nice solice in my dreams.

Yearning for something greater? Me too, man, but I don't think it happens. There's really nothing to this world. You've probably thought and thought and thought about it, and what you wanna do, but then realized it's pretty much impossible in today's world. There's really nothing 'special' to do anymore...

As for your friend err 'problem' I guess I could say...that is, not really enjoying their company...

Well, that's not you, that's them and their activities...you ever get that "well, I could have just as much "fun" while sitting at home on my computer..." feeling before you go to a party? Well that's probably it, and its probably true.

Girls on your "take opportunity as soon as it arises" list., you say?

I feel the same way/have done the same thing.

Trust me, that's not how it happens.

But you seem the type to not really care, or feel like it won't really give you any more pleasure than you already would get with something else...which is probably true too.

Can't find something you like?

Do something you'd never do.

If you put on this fake smile for all these people you know, and don't have anything you like anymore, just look for some random thing and start doing it. Try playing guitar.

I have a similar problem, but not the same. Whenever I am sad I just remind myself that there are people on this world like devilesk, and I immediately start to feel better.

Just in case you commit a suicide I'll be sure to put some flowers on your grave wink.gif

And just in case you want some drugs and alcohol just ask wesmic, i'm sure he'll be happy to help solve your problems.
