Internet lacks emotion since all the reader sees is text, and can misinterpret things you put in the text to add things such as sarcasm. Its not as great as you make it sound.

In my view, SEN, while incredibly crazy, zanny and arbitrary, lacks maturity. When Yoshi posted a topic about Tazzy, his rebukes to other members almost became the topic itself. People can't get around joking around to give condolances (I didn't give any because I didn't really know Tazzy) and they act like the kids at high school. What's with all of the topic about making drugs legal?

But then again, crazy insanity is good, but maturity is needed.

well people been posting stuff in the news section... about some person dying in a internet cafe.

really now... if your going to post about something that you think its serious then theres going to be people going to say... we dont give a crap about that person.

i know there is a rule that you cant post any birthday shouts. how about make a new rule that your not allowed to post any death/sick/inactive posts... people dont care if that person is died becuase they can be lying and try to be a attention whore. and people that are going inactive.... we dont care if your going to be, your just probably going to come back.

Actually that Korean dying in an internet cafe was quite amusing... forgive me for being sadistic, but he was dead to the world anyway.

Now, all these depression topics are made by people who need someone to talk to, and sometimes they have no where else to turn, but most of the time these people are folks who's social lives reside on the web, in forums like these, or online games (like WoW... don't get me started on WoW junkies). When someone comes for help, instead of flaming and insulting them, ingnore them. Let those who care post their sympathies and us who don't keep our mouthes sealed.

On a vaguely similar note...

Some people say that you are unable to convey emotion on the net, saying that there is only text. Aren't books only text? Plus, you got the smilies, wtf more could you ask for... However, some do not posses the ability to write down there thoughts effectively, which is why there seems to be so many idiots on the internet, because many speak better than they can write.

Also, the racism was appalling... not only was it said, but it was supported!

There is only text in books, but they also have the element of describing how the character said blah blah blah. It doesn't appear in a book "Bob said How are you doing?", it says, "Bob said happily How are you doing?" Also, there are smilies, but they can't explain all tones. What smily do you use for sarcasm?

Also, what racism are you talking about?

does it really look like where going to cheer some one up, this is a gaming forum not a crying forum. if your going to post something that sad.. post it on Dr. Phil or Oprahs website or even your blog or something.

everytime i see one of those, i usually say in my mind. "Oh dear god! not another dead person [/sarcasm]"

people are eventually or bound to die at a young age due to stupidity or cancer. just dont post that stuff here anymore, your freaking out the younger kids that go threw here.
