The Human Armada;
After their home world was destroyed they were forced into space to search for new lands the one they come across was infested by The Mutants who were engaged in war with "w.e the name of the toss is"
Galactical Republic;
After years of space travel they founda habitable solar system and attempted to colonize it and succeded however after several rebellions from the species inhabbited on the planet ( toss ) they were forced to poison their own men in attempts to create a more peacefull republic, Because of these attempts some people had actually died, some did not change and others mutated.
Humans;
After discovering space travel the humans has set out to find peace. In space they encountered a species ( the toss ) who raided their ships and took men as prisoners. After experimenting on these people some had evolved and had great rage within them. Then species ( toss ) had no choice but to deposit these mutated beings on a planet to which they evolved further and the war began.
Crusaders;
Terran aka Crusaders had built up and army and desided to collonize the universe encountering two species and so a war began.
this is just 4 ideas that you could use and a form of story to back it up.
