Yes, they are stripped of their functions of computer processors and are just the basic core. They have graphics up the bum and I love the new idea for the Blue Ray!

The new one is fantastic. Suppose to be the longest and best one yet. It feels great with the Wii Controller.


It has one main core.
Now it has 8 SPE's.
One SPE is cut short for yields.
Another is dedicated to the OS.
That leaves 6 for games.
Each one of these cores has an incredibly small cache making them worth a lot less.
Now each core is an in-order-processer with all instruction sets thrown out the window. That cuts the speed for game code in half. All in all what it comes down to is an overclocked P1 processor with a bunch of overclocked-no-cache P1 cores. The only reason they have multi core processors for Ps3 and 360 is to make up for the In Order Processing and throwing instruction sets out. It also much cheaper and allows them to throw around "omgz we got 3 3.2ghz cores!! omgz!!". Throw in it's a female dog to even use all this power. The 360 has slightly less overall cpu power, but it is much easier to gain it. Eventually it all evens out between the two.

The PS3 OS also takes 32megs of 256 VRAM and I think ~30megs of the system ram. The 360 OS takes up much less overall and a lot less system ram. Also the graphics card can take advantage of all possible ram(512megs) and it has a dedicated AA on the 360. The 360's graphic card is also quite a bit more advanced and efficient. Because the Ps3 has half the VRam, BluRay basically has very little potentional of actually increasing the graphics against the 360. However what it could do is allow for longer games...although considering how long development times will already be that may not be the best financial decision for companies. Publishers really wont like it either.

Sony just wants to get Blu-Ray going and getting a lot of manufacturing going on it. So that in a year or two the prices will be down quite a bit. The Ps3 is all about throwing around true but inaccurate numbers(2 Teraflops? It wont hit 70gigaflops) and getting Blu-Ray as the dominant standard.


Graphics mean nothing, Artistic Style means a lot more. Games? How the would you know? Have you even played all the games on the Wii or how about all the games on the Ps3? Have you even played both consoles? The Wii has some very fun games that yes I've played. To be honest even the minigames in Wii Sports are absoultely fantastic with me and my friends. They are so fun that despite the horrible graphics.....it's just pure outright fun. Boxing on Wii sports is now in the top 10 games I have ever played. While it's so simple.. and it gets harder as you go... it's just fun...what else can I say? I cannot wait for a full out boxing game to come out for the Wii.

Why is everyone hyped up for the Wii? What are the pro's of it? I personally thought that the Xbox 360 and the PS3 look far better.

The Wii responds great to little jerks and going all out. Really depends on the game. For all the games i've tried it's worked well to small jerks and getting really into the game.

Trust me the Wii is something you just gotta try. And not that Excite Truck game. Something like Wii Sports, Zelda, or well Red Steel has had mixed reactions but i'd throw that in there. I also heard the madden game is pretty cool with the wiimote(i love that word).

Can I list Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 as another reason? It's gonig to be so awesome to play a DBZ game witht he wiimote.

I saw the comercial for the Wii, it looks amazing with the motion thing. I'd love to try it but I think I'll stick to PS3 when I decide to go get it.

Also I can't wait to see Square Enix pull out the next Final Fantasy, I hear they're using the White engine on it.

The PS3 has motion controllers too. And how many are actually going to stand up to swing the controller, you can do the same sitting down comfortably!

PS#s isn't nearly as useful for that, it just has tilt sensing.

And everyone who gets a Wii will.

I just hope they remake Final Fantasy VII on PS3, that would be a dream come true..

PS3 = more complex then Wii.
More complex = slower for games that show what it can really do come out.
Next generation game system = maybe another 4 years max?

why do you kids fight over game systems anyways?..... come on now... i wouldnt give a crap wether you buy a Wii, or a xbox 360 or a ps3
there pretty much the same depending on your personallity and some of the games

since i own all 3 systems i can tell you this.

Xbox 360:
• its menu screen looks awsome
• free HD ports so you can play on a HDTV
• you can turn on your xbox 360 with the controller
• the first system to have the best graphics
• paying for xbox live is quite cheap now.... paying them would make the servers last longer and having new patches to fix glitches and bugs
• you can do many things if you connect your xbox 360 to the computer
• even though some games are backwards compadable... there still trying to fix those problems

PS3:
• its menu looks like crap
• you have to pay an extra $100 dollars to get HD ports.. without it would look like PS2 graphics
• for the blue ray...if you want good graphics then it requires the HD ports too
• your paying an extra $200 for a bigger harddrive and putting memory cards in and SD memory cards.
• free servers to play online.... years from now, i know those servers will die out
• all there playstation games are backwards compadable

Wii:
• the controller looks awsome, also you play more confortable... sometimes i can play it while crossing my arms.
• you can buy previous games online without using those cartrages.
• backwards compadable with gamecube games.
• compadable with gamecube controllers and memory cards
• you can use SD memory cards as a its harddrive.
• its great to put in a small space
• no cost... it automatically has wireless network, all you need is a router.



i would go more into detail but these are the things that i find it more commonly.

See, thats wat i mean about the Wii being so good. Hve you noticed? Non of the things he posted about the Wii were bad. But the things he posted about the PS3.....

I'm thinking of getting a Wii for Christmas, but I'm not 100% sold. It really dependson the games they have for sale... any good upcoming releases coming up that anybody knows about..?

Ps3 and 360 - Better Graphics.
Wii - Innovative Fun Control Style that seems new and fresh and can really take some games(like boxing and FPS's) to the next level.

Then again graphics do make the game....lol...
