I seem to remember that the only file directly referenced by install.exe is setupdat\setup.vis (I think that was the name). From what I remember, any other references to files that install.exe opens are either in that file or in one of the files it references.

ya setupdat/setup.vis was prob very helpful w/ a lot of solving of unknowns dealing with the "installation" of starcraft i.e. setupfiles, folder creation, maps, registry etc. But it doesn't really do much after that?
