He remade it a few times and he lazy when comes map making sometimes so why takes awhile.

I can see some people shying away from it because of the tiles. I can also see some people getting punched in the face.

Hmm, well I'll just reiterate some of the observations I made when I saw it (all things you can probably safely worry about later, though):
  • Squads don't need to follow you into the stall when you go take a shat. You know what I mean. tongue.gif
  • Squads shouldn't spread out quite so much, as I kept finding individual units fighting enemies way behind my main group and getting picked off. I think if they go too far from your hero, they should just order->move back until they're close, then resume order->attack move. I can show you a good way to do that if you want (will take a bit of work, though).
  • Didn't like getting bunched up by squads when in a hurry... especially while trying to use a limited-time spell or stim. Perhaps add a limit to the number of squads next to the hero before auto-unsticking?
  • Probably get rid of the dropship part for level up selections. I didn't realize at first I was supposed to be using it, and it kinda adds an extra step to the process that you could probably safely do without.
  • The "halleluja" was funny, but perhaps only use 1 per level up? 4 of them blaring at once kinda defeats the joyous effect. tongue.gif Not a critical fix, though.
  • Liked the city buildings, but the street, um sidewalks (?) had a higher elevation than the middle path, which may or may not be a bad thing (adds a tad bit of strat to fighting in that area). Though they were kinda blocky, which wasn't so good.
  • Tutorials need more time for message reading. Plus it helps if possible to display the messages over a dark background, such as the fog of war (unless you need to be showing it in conjunction with units and beacons). Is it replayable?
  • The command where you order your squad to attack somewhere needs to be a bit more intuitive. I was thinking you could either use a muta or carrier or dropship or something and select the point by morphing/building interceptor/unloading, or you could use a time limit for the point to auto select. You could also simply use a time limit for how long it remains still, and then auto move. That way players get time to set their position without worry, and no hassle needed with manually triggering the order.
Otherwise, it's not a bad map so far. I'd suggest just finishing it first before bothering with my checklist, though.

Rather than all those issues, what do you think about the map so far? does it have a future? Can it be a good map? etc.

Well other than those issues it actually plays like a pretty standard rpg, just with a few extra elements to think about (though the enjoyability would definitely improve if your squad mates had some more anti-blocking measures). I think you could add some twists to it (like at mid game), improve the story telling, add some more diverse monster types and challenges to face. Probably don't need to go into alternate objectives and split paths and such if you don't want, though.

That stuff is up to your creativity, really. I'm more use helping with technical stuff than creative stuff, usually. But frankly I'd rather see a map at all instead of risk trying to make an ubertastic one, so I think you should focus on completion instead of perfection. Especially at the stage the map is at already. You can always do perfection later once you have a good formula worked out.


That's kinda why I did a Trigger Happy D and a bunch of other shooter maps before I did Rush (even though I'd consider Rush itself far from perfect tongue.gif).

Nevermind that Rush took me bloody forever, too...

The thing is that i have been focused in making systems rather than the story, but i am almost done with the systems so i will start making the story and adding movies and all those stuff.
