I'm still curious as to how he made the first level.

You should know since your skill level is Advanced... Hmm?

QUOTE(getaids @ Nov 2 2004, 12:41 PM)
Maybe I'll have to have a little lookse at the triggers smile.gif

-I know it's protected... by proedit 1.4 infact.

Unprotection is not favored here, just giving you a heads up.

Damn you, this map is great. I think this definately will set a new trend in future bounds, even though this is more complicated than a simple create/kill. biggrin.gif

Just because it's advanced doesn't mean I know everything. That's what uber is for.

As for the unprotection... It's not like I'm going to steal it, so why would it matter? It's just a learning experience. If I were to unprotect it, rig it, and distribute it, then I could understand where you're coming from. But I'm not. So...?

You're advanced, meaning you should know what the "Transmission" trigger is.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TheOddAngel on 2004-11-02 at 17:57:06
The first obs is simple...

he probably used obs and used transmissions to make the circles around it... red is the enemy, Yellow Ally, And green Would be you.

Then he used triggers that when thsi transmission is used all the serglins there die...

MUAHAHAH Im only Average and i figured it out jsut by looking at it....

Well, claiming that you are Advanced you should be able to look at the map and be able to determine what ACTION is causing that to happen... So to save you the trouble with unprotecting the map, I'll just tell you what it is... Basically its just a Transmission action playing a Null wav file (or nothing at all) for a certain amount of seconds upon each burrowed unit. And the one unit that is your enemy that is burrowed will be labeled in red outline, the rest yellow.

And I know that you probably mean no harm in your unprotection, but unless it's your map, it's not meant for you to break into. It would be much better if you just asked someone rather than taking measures into your own hands.

hey im in the friends section too ^_^

Wow, you guys are close but not quite on, if I were to just do that then the transmission would repeat a few seconds later and look quite stupid, I noticed this at first and thought of a solution, I remove the ling after every transmission to prevent any more unneeded transmissions, once the obs is done, it sets a death counter which re-creates the lings and clears the counter, and so on.

That's a good system Silent, I like how you set up the bound overall. I am happy however that this is your last bound. I just can't stand bounds. Anyway, as for the Unprotecting thing, you have been spoken to in another for about unprotecting, you do it again and you're in some trouble so stop being stupid.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DevliN on 2004-11-03 at 06:14:39
Its too bad this is your last bound. I have a feeling this will be changing the way people make bounds - and I'm sure you'd be able to make something even better than this.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .Coko[CK] on 2004-11-03 at 13:17:00
It won't change the way people make bounds because most people who make bounds won't be able to understand how you can make triggers without things getting killed at a location.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Paella on 2004-11-03 at 15:04:11
I agree with you Coko, just because people see these great maps and play them does not mean that it will make them greta map makers. Some of those obstacles are so out there that some people might not get them and they will just think that the map is gay... Too bad people are so stupid.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SiLeNT(U) on 2004-11-04 at 23:19:21
Actually the only obstacle that confuses people is the Random crystals one (Level 3), even though the instructions are clearly written out, other than that people get it.

BTW: this is my last bound because I feel I've exhausted all the original obs I can think of, I could probobly only think of about 5 more.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Red2Blue on 2004-11-05 at 00:08:44
Not to be rude or mean... this is a great bound... but...

You can't just claim any bound to be the best bound just cause you got a transmission ob and other obs that supposedly are "ultra unique"...

This isn't the best bound in the world... there are many bounds exceed it...
And there is nothing unique about it...

come on... transmission obs... its the same thing... you might as well, shoulda used explosions other then wasting your time creating burrowed units and transmissioning them... and the obs inbetween your other obs are just like any other bound... dodging units and explosions...

if you want to play some unique bound, you have to play "ChronoBound v1.1",
that my friends... is the most unique bound ever...

the levels in there have never been created by anyone like using an scv to jump over units and using lockdown on shuttles to create a path to the end
... and aren't just about dodging explosions... cause when you really look at RR bound... its just the same thing as any other bound...

and a 566kb map isn't a walk in the park to dl... talk about a dl nitemare....

Then again... all bounds are the same... also mine... just dodge explosions... but its nice that you tried to find different ways to dodge explosions... =)

Question:

The crystals in obs 3 are randomized right?

because they are always different?

How many diferent combonations are there 6? or more
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SiLeNT(U) on 2004-11-06 at 12:00:33
Yeah they are randomized, and yeah there are 6 combonations, sometimes I get it in the first try but sometimes it takes a bit longer, this particular ob seems to frustrate nobs.

i hate that obsticle i cant get past it. i keep running into the zealots and templars and havent beaten that level. good job with the bound though, love it from the obsticles ive seen so far even though i hate bounds biggrin.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SiLeNT(U) on 2004-11-06 at 23:20:28
When you test as much as me, you get used to that level, I can pass it without even thinking about it now happy.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .Coko[CK] on 2004-11-07 at 08:51:06
Maybe for another bound, you can have it team matches, where players on two teams take it in turns to beat a level before the other team, and gain advantages and disadvantages, like becoming faster/slower, difficult of the bound increasing for one, and decreasing for other team.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TheOddAngel on 2004-11-07 at 09:53:17
I think that idea is good...

I have seen it in another bound but that bound wasn't that good.

Im sure he could make a better kind

I don't like bounds at all... but this is a very nice one... Keep up the good work...

You know, Red2Blue, have some respect. It's not as if you (or I) could ever beat him in the art of making bounds (heck this is the first time I've ever played one)

Artanis, you are a genius. In the good way. Not the evil way.

EDIT: Sorry Red2Blue, didn't see the thread on your bounds. I'm not going to take a partisan view, but hey, it would be cool to have some sort of competition. Best Bound Maker Ever biggrin.gif

In my opinion Red can school Artanis or w/e his name is at making bounds ANY day.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SiLeNT(U) on 2004-11-11 at 22:53:55
Well, considering that was my first attempt at a bound, I say it came out pretty well, unlike Red2Blue who has made many bounds before. Also, I'm not out to have any competition with him, everyone has their opinions and ideas of the best bounds.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KaboomHahahein on 2004-11-11 at 23:41:29
Nice bound. The lurker one had a few problems because sometimes the DT would get too close and the ling can just walk on edge. Also theoverlapping meesed up on briefing happy.gif. This is stupid but.. cool1.gif Good job on bound

Dammit i can't find the screen shot of it..I think i deleted it.
