I don't believe that... at least I will if it is true when I make my own map test with these units...

Thats odd i always heard people saying "vulture is the fastest unit" even a long time ago. Of course thats excluding units you can't really control without triggers like interceptors, scarbs and nukes.

I believe vultures are just as fast, if not faster, than the zerglings without the speed upgrade but I will find out once I make a map like that... dots.gif

That kinda spells it out for ya doesn't it? Though Zergling has a better Movement Ai than the Vulture, so once off the nice square terrain, well the Vulture gets destroyed.

While we're on the topic of speed, it might be interesting to note that Jim Raynor uses the speed upgrade just like regular units, while all other heroes always move as if the upgrade is researched, even if it's not (or disabled).

What other heroes get a form of Speed upgrade, and i think Vulture Raynor and the Scout Heroes do suffer from it.

All heroes have all non weapon/armor upgrades specified for their unit.

But do the heroes get a double upgrade when upgraded formally?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2004-11-05 at 18:42:04
No, they just already have it. A hero zergling has speed and attack upgrades regardless of upgrade state.

Upgrades affecting heroes:

All Weapon Upgrades
All Armor Upgrades
Plasma Shield Upgrade
Scarab Damage Upgrade
Ion Thrusters Upgrade

Any other upgrade simply does not affect the hero. The hero settings are so that it acts as if the upgrade is researched, even though it might not (or even be disabled).

Note that this does not apply to technologies. There, heroes have all technologies as researched, if they are enabled or researched. Disabling a technology also disables it for heroes.

Arcturus Mengsk and Aldaris never get abilities.

Note: This is different from what things used to be right after Brood War was released. Alan Schezar for example didn't benefit from the Charon Boosters at all. Neither did Fenix (Dragoon) get an improved range. Raszagal had Disruption Web like a regular Corsair (ie, you needed to research it before you could use it). some other stuff I forgot about. It seems someone over at Blizzard decided to fix the heroes at some patch.
