Well, at least you admit it... Good quality.
For example, in my case I was able to log on for about an hour today while I waited on my gf to get to my house. In that hour, I didn't do a bit of work on my map... pathetic, yes.
If I was being paid good money to make maps, I'll make them at least 5 times faster. at least.
lol.
I take about 6 months to make a good map. However, most of mine are crap and Ihaven't realeased them. ONly my recent maps are nay good.
I can do a bound in a week though, and Melee in a day to 3 days.
I don't do those anymore though. My maps are really complicated and I have to fix a lot of bugs and get the trigger orders right and all kind of crap.

6 Months because I'm a lazy ass....

12 Months here.
RPG's take me long time, Defenses are ok on the time, like a week or 2, but all my bounds were made in like 1-3 days..
Basic bounds can be done very quickly if you already know the speeds you want.
I find RPGs, Diplomacy/War, and Campaigns take the most time for balancing issues and giving it s story without it sounding corny.
I think all my maps have taken me 6 - 12 months, mainly because I'm a procrastinating bastard.

lol, I'm just a perfectionist. Most of my maps are never completed because I realize halway through noone would play it, or the idea is too similar to ones already out there.
- 3 Days for a bound
- 3 weeks for a rpg
- 2 days for a defence map
These are all for maps without the need for Player to Player balance, of course they take hardly any time. And you fail to add in the testing phase, because people just let them out without really testing it.
Coko, How long do you think it will take you to make a RPG?
RPG's the only one i made back a year ago for my Campaign, was about five months, from getting the storyline written, getting the background engine for the player, and then designing the triggers for non-linear gameplay, then adding the voices and such.
Ermm...Just a quick question...what was the map about?
It was about the destruction of a small mining colony and how a small group of survivors looked to locate friends lost in the mines while trying to invade the capture by the Terran Dominion and other such creatures.
Sounds cool...could you attach it? i wanna check it out...
If you gave me the whole day to make a map(without sto) I would probably finish 1 bound and defense
Wow you must be fast Lol...if it did take you all that time they probbaly sucked..no offense
They wouldn't neccessarily suck, but I doubt there'd be much of anythiung nwe in them.
I am notoriously at map making, because i waste my time with all the little details, I don't get the overall map done. I'll spend days on a briefing.
Well I suppose it depends on who the creator is... but if I only had 24 hours to make a bound and a defense I'm sure they'd be

...
They would just be like all of the old ones
the old ones weren't necessarily

ty... in fact in my opinion they were better than the

people come out with these days dude, all the new ideas were being pioneered then... now they're just overused. :-/
Yes, They were better then the ones now...they were actually beatable.
The 1st man to breathe is a pioneer. you can never out do him in that because he was the 1st.

Then the map wouldnt be very good, cause you'd be rushing things, i used to make some teh best bounds in mere hours

Bounds blow, I hate bounds because they are just flashy maps with explosion obsticles.
