I'm going to defend gradient forum creator things....
Yes, they are pointless. For some they aren't even fun. Then don't use them. A lot of people enjoy having gradiented text, for whatever reasons. I certainly don't mind it (I didn't also create a gradient creator for nothing...

), but it should be used in the right ways. If a person's post
Is not readable(Is not readable)because they use a gradient creator, then I won't read their post. That is just stupid.
But there are some
very readable presets that most gradient creators have. People shouldn't hesitate to use them, if they want to.As for you being the original thinker of gradiented text. Maybe within this forum, but it's been around the internet for ages.

Pink! LOL! I Love Pink!
Edit: Load Time with all of this gradients takes FOREVER!
Not for me...
And it shouldn't take much longer.
Let me run some tests... brb.
You're right. Most topics that didn't have gradiented text were ~20-30KB on a full page, and topics with gradiented text were 30-35Kb.
I wouldn't think it'd affect it that much. But on a high speed connection, that shouldn't be a noticable difference.,

It is for me, and i have Cable... it just has to load every letter as opposed to a uniform color which it loads once per time its showd
Exactly, but it shouldn't be a noticable difference.
When you load a webpage it downloads the webpage off the server and then opens it. If you get 30KB/s speeds then it would take about a second to load a gradiented page, and about two-thirds of a second to download a non-gradiented page. That is hardly a noticable difference. And most people get a lot more than 30 KB/s so that minimizes the load time differences even more.

Well ride my ___ and call me ________.
It's not that big of a deal, I just thought people who have been pestering me about it would like to know.
Well, since you all seem so 'intrigued'.....
I don't know how much you all know about BattleForums, the forum RexyRex said above, but I am a member there, one of the oldest (my userid is 3809 and our userids have hit 100000), and current top poster there. I've been there for 2 long years. *sigh*
Anyway, around March 2003, I believe, I decided to go different. The first style I decided upon was the Red/Yellow one. What started out as an innocent little tool I made developed into something large and stupid. The result is the page you have seen.
Yes, gradiants are sort of stupid, but at least I can be proud that I wrote all that code myself. However, this is probably one of the best examples of 'how not to organise a HTML page'. Literally no indentation and not compliant. Of course, it's always under development.
As you can see from the counter, it's been 4000 hits so far, about 1000 by me, no doubt. If you hit 'BattleForums' into Google, this page even pops up on the first page, the fourth link, in fact. I guess there are a lot more links out there linking towards it.
Feel free to use this, even though it isn't the least propaganda-infested page ever. Feel free to help BF's Gamesites200 accounts, and our own forums. Gah, what am I saying?! This is blatant advertising!
Since I'm here, and this will probably be my one and only post here (I don't even play SC much, and have trouble remembering units from units), I will say that I am a spambot, have no life, and this forum design is absolute 1337 gosu. Kudos to the designer(s) of SEN.

"I killed you, Mr. Anderson. I watched you die...with a certain satisfaction, I might add. Then something happened. Something that I knew was impossible but happened anyway. You destroyed me, Mr. Anderson. Afterwards, I knew the rules. I knew what I was supposed to do, but I didn't. I couldn't. I was compelled to stay, compelled to disobey, and now, here I am because of you, Mr. Anderson. Because of you, I'm no longer an agent of the system. Because of you, I've changed. I'm unplugged. I'm a new man, so to speak, like you, apparently free."- Agent Smith, "The Matrix Reloaded"
