What we really need is a good weapon and battle system, the terrainers will have no problem with terrain and you guys can pull a storyline out of ur ass just like that, some items would be nice too...

lol are you brain dead, have you even read about our map. Jeeze go look at the topic named "if elected or w/e the rest said" and you'll read all about our 1st project. It is going to have a very complex item selection and the censored.gif ing map is based off of finding objects to unlock doors and ect.

How can you not get enough trigger people? I thought this site was StarEdit.net?

What I wanted to say though was, if you're having a public meeting, can I come?

I'd like to sit in, too. I'm sort of a Starchitect, right, BST? I just want to see what you guys are about. Are you going to announce the channel name publicly or just PM it to your members?

Well... "sort of" is the emphasised term there. But it's not for me to decide.

If you want my advice, don't start off with a huge project that you expect to take six months to complete. Me and all my past and present team members failed several times before I finally realised how to run a team project successfully. Isn't that right Nozomu? It's not as easy as it looks, there is much to gain from the experience of doing small, not-so-significant maps at first.

Well were debating if were going to have the meeting on bnet or on a chat room perhaps MSN or AIM. My plans are making it public and possible also PM all our team mates when exactly. However i must say if the public abuses there allowence into our extreamly important 1st meeting i will personaly ban every one and completely exile there chances of ever becoming part of the team, nor accociate with the team. We will probaly end up doing it this sunday if all ago's acording to plan beer and i will set up a reasonable time in which both of us and most of the team can be there.

Just a few ideas I had come up with for BlizzSCUMS while I was still in it, but because I quit and becuse they never used them I might as well post them here...

NAME: Undecided
IDEA: Two teams of 3 people each would go head to head in a TvB set up. The object of the game is to destroy the enemy's Command Center by creating special units (by constructing buildings) or by using special offensive attacks. Protecting each Command Center will be 3 bunkers, each owned by one player of the corresponding team. The SCVs would create ground units and Probes can create Air units. You have to choose one or the other at the start of the game.
TILESET: Badlands (best for aesthetically pleasing minimaps and has an abundance of colors).
PLAYERS: 6 Humans and 2 Computers.
BUILDINGS / SPECIAL ATTACKS:
Supply Depot = 1 Infested Terran
Barracks = 1 Dragoon
Missile Turret = 2 Zerglings
Starport = 1 Seige Tank
Armory = 1 Dark Templar
Photon Cannon = Wraith
Cybernetics Core = Arbiter
Nexus = Carrier
Special1 = Turn off vision of enemy team for X seconds
Special2 = Set HP of Enemy Command Center to 50%
Special3 = Disable your team's bunkers for X seconds, then enable again.

MAP NAME: Bombardment
DESCRIPTION: The players must attack and successfully infiltrate an enemy compound. The compound with be built with terrain (like Temple if it was on the Jungle tileset or Compound if it was on the Desert tileset). There would be four that the team would have to get passed in order to win. Level 1 (the main wall) would have Turrets and Cannons, Level 2 would have Bunkers, Level 3 would have Sunken Colonies, and Level 4 would have Tanks.

MAP NAME: Hackers RPG
DESCRIPTION: A team of hackers have been hired to stop the Twilight Corporation's evil plan to steal the identities of people all over the world. Consumers of their computer products have been duped into giving up personal information like social security numbers that lead to a mass identity theft. The hackers are the only hope for humanity.

MAP NAME: Coven
DESCRIPTION: A set of vampire hunters find a Coven and proceed to enter and kill all the vampires they encounter. There could be a possible system where a player can turn into a vampire after being near one for too long - and then the tables will have turned and it is that player's mission to make sure the group fails.

MAP NAME: Summoners
DESCRIPTION: 4 players battle eachother in either a FFA or a 2v2. Like a mixture between BattleCraft and Magic the Gathering, the players summon units to fight for them and attack their enemy. Along with an array of units, the summoners can also cast spells that defend their units or harm others. The terrain is a large +, made by using SF of course. Unit choices will be on different plateaus, each having a different level of strength/defense - like one unit choosing area would only have minor melee units while another will have heavy-hitters. Each player has his/her own set of units, so they aren't all choosing from the same group of creatures to send. Along with this, each player will also have his/her own set of spells to use. One player will specialize in healing, one with defense, one with offense, and one with all of these types of spells, except generally weaker than the rest. To summon a unit or cast a spell, you require Mana. Mana can be gained with the more units you kill.

I have more ideas if none of these are sufficient.

Someone (or a group of someones) should make a campaign. Standard 12-map campaign would be nice, and isnt that difficult, since its the storyline that is most important. Map creation wouldnt be hard as long as its not half-assed, and triggers should be a breeze from there.

I suggest this because Ive played a couple campaigns recently.
- I downloaded and played War of the Tribes from CampaignCreations.org. The story was a fantastic continuation to Brood War's episode 6's story. The main race here was the Protoss, who were going through another sort of Aeon of Strife thing again.
- I also played another campaign, downloaded off a slightly obscure site. On paper, it looks massive: 72+ missions, divided into 12 maps for each of the six episodes. However, the problem was that the first episode was decent at most. After the first ten-ish maps, everything else was not even close to being okay. The missions were pointless (destroy all enemy forces, too many times), and less effort was put into the maps. You would be given too many units, or too many resources, not to mention the maps are exactly like the ones Blizzard made, only with preplaced units.

Whoops. Got into a little rant there.

Anyway, a campaign offering an alternative storyline, or a continuation of one would be grand. Creativity is what makes or break the whole thing.

Ill get around to posting story ideas later.
