If you want to be in SMT, and feel that you're advanced, it would be really easy for you to post here a map proves that.
Otherwise, make sure to read the tutorials sections and than try.

Look you don't know me. Okay, i don't know you either, but i can guess im twice the triggerer you are. Anyway i just finished my battleships map, it's good enough to get in, but im not sure since this thread is always dead and slowly moves. Besides SMT hasnt even come out with a map yet? So far just a BETA.

I have recently seen your Battleship map and it has quite nicely demonstrated your skills as a triggerer. I will confer with my associates to decide the outcome of your application. Thank you for your interest in SMT.

As for as our maps go, only one map has been moving along but it is coming out very nicely. People tend to get lazy especially since you cannot force someone to do something online. We hope as soon as this map is released it will spark more interest in the team.

He is in. I just gave him the Permission Mask for the Forum and added him to the Roster.

Well I just want to be the first to congratulate him.
GJ TriggaMasta, the position suites you well. smile.gif

(hope i don't say anything stupid, but I didn't read the whole thread. It's really long.)

Can people like me submit concepts or ideas for maps?
If so is this the place to submit it?
Is the team working on any projects right now?
What kind of map would you prefer working on? (which catagory in the DDB would it fit in?)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2005-04-09 at 23:01:22
That would go in the concept catagory for the concepts and ideas for maps.
And yes, I believe the team is working on a project.

Shouldn't Yoshi be in the list for also owning the site?

I'm posting up a triggering map.
It WAS an incomplete minigame, well it still is, but you'll never see it being done.
I'm just posting it because I'll never know if I have a chance until I try.
I'm probably not going to make it, but I'm going to try anyway.
This map was basically to prove my friend that I CAN make a map with ONE LOCATION.

-PS:
---Just incase you haven't read: I probably won't make it and I won't be hurt if you say "You newbie, you have no place in triggering."

Oh yah, another thing: I KNOW there is people better than me at triggering.

Sorry, ANOTHER thing: Tell me if the file is readable, I am recently having problems with my maps.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2005-04-20 at 19:41:19
Pretty good.
You'll have to talk to someone who can play it though.
Becuase I just see a lot of centering, not actual gameplay.

Pretty nice, it shows how well you know grids happy.gif

However I am looking for a map that has a few more advanced triggers in it. Perhaps a system of some sort would be nice.

Keep in mind if you don't know your triggers well enough, then it may be hard to understand what is going on.

Make sure you understand all of the tutorial database wink.gif

Thank you for your interest in SMT!

  1. So, did he get into the SMT?
  2. If so/if not, then is SMT still recruiting people?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by LegacyWeapon on 2005-04-20 at 21:41:02
1. No
2. Yes, triggerers only.

1st: I do know my triggers from conditions to actions, always to command, disabling to run AI scripts, etc. etc. BUT I can only do them when I know what triggers they want me to use... like "Make special effects to make it look like there is a ghost", I can't just do triggers when you ask "Do advanced trigger system". BUT I managed to make a easy way to make the trigger system Red2Blue used in d)R(agon bound (The "touch" system as I call it). If you wanna see it, I'll look for it. Oh yah, if you wanna challenge me, I could try to do that system with one location wink.gif

2nd: There IS no gameplay, I just started it because my friend doubted I could make a map with one location. Once I proved him wrong, I stopped. And the game would be pretty boring anyway disgust.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2005-04-21 at 14:44:10
Anyone can make a one location thing.
Mostly becuase there are a couple maps on it, and a tutorial.

Still a good job, but, let's see something a little creative here. wink.gif

When I say to know your triggers, I mean take a bunch of triggers you did not make and figure out how the engine goes through it all.

Sure I'll see the torch system or any other system you think would be worth seeing.

Look at the very first post if you wanna see something we're looking for.
Well, reading the first post is pretty much mandatory...but just in case I thought I'd remind you. smile.gif

That "Touch" system is very simple.

Knowing Conditions/Actions isn't enough, we constantly create new Trigegr Systems to make things imposible to do with Conditions/Actions.

THAT confuses me... How can there be a trigger, with no Actions or Conditions?
And that map at the start of this topic... what the hell was that for?
If it's for examples of "Impossible Triggers", well... I'll just say I can do those with my eyes closed. (Mind you I never did the "Dropship Menu" thing, but that must be easy, all I think I'll be needing is one location (ground only), a dropship, and a few triggers)

Fine... I'll try to make these... "Impossible" Triggers from what I understand...

By Trigger Systems I mean things that you can't do with conventional triggers. You would need to use many triggers linked in such a way that they act as one. Take my Accuracy bullet System for example, you can't do it with just a few triggers, the basic system itself is done with like 7 triggers just to do a basic action.

Basicly trigger systems are ways to try and to stuff not meant to be done by blizz.

OoOoOoOoh I get it now... Ok now that I understand, I'll go make the "advanced trigger system"

Here are some maps I want to have considered. Each one uses some kind of trigger system I think.

I also want to join mainly for the challenge, because I am bored and I want to make some complex trigger systems.

Archonball uses zoning and coordinates, I have ideas I want to implement to make this system better, and eventually get rid of the unit grid surrounding the ball.
Scourgeball uses some dropship shoot system, not to complicated though
Dodgeball_one uses grid system and is based on ScVz 3v3 Dodgeball
ScVzFootball is just a map with maybe some interesting triggers.
Rpgv14 is an old weapon system I created a WHILE ago that I didn't quite finish, but it is pretty original I think. I also had a ton of versions before this which were slightly different.

Also
anglegridsystem is an experimental map after I fiddled with archonball. It uses a more elaborate system, but the problem is the lag caused by the give units involved in zoning, because I wanted to find 3 sets of coordinates. However I intend to replace all the give units with just a grid of rows and columns of locations and just have a series of triggers to find coordinates like that.

I can make good use of resources to find out about whatever I need. I know every trigger and have experimented with many things dealing with triggers.

EDIT: if these are too many maps, I'll be working on a single map which includes each system used in these maps, and combine all of them.

EDIT: theres a typo in the first post where the rules are. The last line where it says recrutier should be recruiter. smile.gif
