If you actually read my views on generalization I said most of the time, but there are points where it's appropriate.

Ok.

QUOTE
I went to a random article, out of god knows how many on that page, it's fairly unlikly I'd get the only one that's a worthless piece of ****.

Out of 'God knows how many?' There are only nine! Nine posts that don't whine on about how my cat died or my girlfriend dumped me or whatever. Those are stereotypical blog posts - mine are a little better than that.

QUOTE
You're one person, I expect you to write the same everytime you make a post.

Actually, I adapt my style depending on context, which is a useful ability. I assume you've never heard of context, as your one style seems to be that of an aggressive troglodyte.

QUOTE
I feel justified in assuming most of your stuff is worthless, especially considering your posts on SEN.

I'm glad that I can finally start to get to the bottom of all this. The basic reason for your flaming is the fact that you hold some kind of hatred for me and you're looking for an excuse to show it. I'd be interested to know what caused all this, as I've never even spoken to you before.

QUOTE
I can feel justified in generalizing that nearly all blogs are worthless because people who actually have talent will want to stick out.

People who have talent don't have to showcase it on the Internet. I concentrate my talents on my academic career and anything I do on the Internet is secondary to that. My (former) SC mapping, EV modding, Terragen landscaping, debating, participating in communities and even blogging; are all hobbies.

QUOTE
Even if I didn't think your posts on that blog would all be just as bad you still don't have an excuse for posting worthless junk like that, and then expecting people to read it. It's your responsibility and you screwed up.

It's a hobby. If people choose to read it, then great - but I'm not going to be crying into my pillow tonight because someone didn't read it/like it.

You must be so proud.

Good thing you've kissed enough ass that you won't get punished for flaming.

No ****.

Anyone without a mental desiese can do well academically, they just need the drive. I would only call it a talent if you were able to learn things much quicker than other people, while not putting much more effort into paying attention.

So what you're saying, is that, even though people don't show a particular talent for something, they should be posting it on the internet? That reminds me of the I-don't-care-what-other-people-think attitude. Oh well.

Your posts in this thread, actually.

If you want to go ahead spilling your thoughts into a blog that will one day be shut down when your host realises nobody looks at blogs except maybe their own, in which you will lose all you have written, fine. Time well wasted if it actually makes you happy.

You just broke the Sarcasm-O-Meter.

I've never kissed ass. I've just stayed out of trouble by steering a central course. When I've disagreed with someone, even an admin, I've told them so. Just because I don't get as badly punished for flaming doesn't mean I'm a sycophant. Stop viewing things from your own twisted perspective all the time and try to view it from somebody else's. You assume too much and know too little. I've noticed this in nearly all of your posts where you start criticising someone else.

Nice to see that we agree on something. rolleyes.gif

There is another line of thought that suggests that some people have a genetic predisposition to learning, and that environmental factors only count for x amount of somebody's intelligence.
In other words, some people are born smart and others are born dumb (not counting those with medically recognised mental disorders).

Like I said, if someone comments on some work of mine, or downloads it, or whatever, then great; I might start to really care about what it is I'm doing. Until then, unless it is something I'm particularly passionate about already, then I'll just get the feeling that I've done something useful, if only to myself. It's hard to explain - it's defeating your inner critic.

Why are they worthless? Because they disagree with your point of view?

I have backups, you know. Google is so stinking rich right now that they are hardly going to do away with blogspot at the moment either. And what's all this about 'spilling my thoughts?' Is having a landscape picture gallery 'spilling my thoughts?' It's only 'spilling my thoughts' if it has no relevance to anybody other than myself. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif
