Your name effect is orange, by the way, IE has tabs, so... no difference is there?

The skin from Fx doesn't really matter, because all you need is Windows Blind or The Skins Factory would change the IE Skin.

I see you people asking about how Opera and FireFox are different... Here is some things I know...
  • FireFox takes up more space than Opera in ussage
  • Opera has fully customizable toolbar that yu can click and change things really easily
  • In depth detail on all of the options that can be done in the browser
  • Runs pages faster
  • I don't think FireFox has a mail system... I might be wrong though...
  • Opera centers the text to make it nice to read. If you don't like it like that then you change it. That is simple to do...
  • Having more than one page online does not take up your whole start bar.
I love Opera. Better than both IE and FX in my opinion...

What do you mean by tab? I never knew there was a thing called tabbing on these internet browsers...

But Firefox has its own powerful backers. Mozilla received an extra publicity boost earlier this month when Google (nasdaq: GOOG - news - people ) announced its Firefox affiliate program, called AdSense referrals. Google pays one dollar to a Web site for every individual that it drives to download and run Firefox. The Firefox browser includes a Google tool bar.

maybe SEN could get paid... wink.gif and IP could stop paying for it himself.

KrazY, why do you still support IE? It screws up a lot of code, and fails miserably on most tests.

The first stage of the beta process for Internet Explorer 7 has begun—developer testing! The latest version of the world’s most popular Web browser has been released for technical evaluation, feedback, and testing by software and Web site developers.

The Beta 1 release signals that Internet Explorer 7 has reached an important milestone, with a number of key new features and improvements, and is ready for website and application compatibility testing. This release is specifically intended for developers to confirm that existing applications and websites will work well with Internet Explorer 7, and provides an opportunity for developers to give feedback directly to the development team. There will be further refinement between Beta 1 and the final version.

Beta 1 is not intended for broad consumer trial and evaluation but it does offer a preview of some of the benefits that Internet Explorer 7 will offer customers including:

Dynamic security protection through a simplified architecture that defends against malware, and new dynamic ways to protect against personal data theft from fraudulent Web sites (a practice known as “phishing”).

Improved design to make everyday tasks easier and faster, with better navigation through tabbed browsing; inline search right from the toolbar; shrink-to-fit Web page printing; and a streamlined, redesigned user interface (currently in its early stages in Beta 1).

New tools to take you directly to the information you want through support for Web feeds (RSS) that includes automatic discovery of web feeds (RSS) on Web pages, basic Web Feed (RSS) reading capabilities, and basic support for saving Web feeds (RSS) as a new kind of favorite.

Platform enhancements for developers to improve compatibility and manageability, including improved support for Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) as well as transparent PNG support.

Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1 is available now in two versions: a standalone version for Windows XP Service Pack 2, and an enhanced version that is built into Beta 1 of Microsoft Windows Vista—formerly Windows code-named "Longhorn"—to take advantage of new features of the Windows Vista platform.

A Community Technology Preview (CTP) has also been released which includes many more of the features that you can expect in the final version. We are looking for testing and feedback by MSDN and Technet subscribers. It has been released as part of the Windows Vista CTP.

Hmm...Appears to me that this article is saying a new IE is coming out...Meh...I am using AOL Browser...Tabbed IE...

I like FireFox. It has tabs, built in pop-up blocking, and about:config biggrin.gif. I had been hiding it on this computer for a while, because my dad thought that anything I installed couldn't possibly be good (he yelled at me when he found Ad-Aware). But, this computer got a virus (Home Search Assistant), and he managed to get rid of it... for a bit. It came back a couple days later. So I managed to get rid of it so that it wouldn't come back so easily. Well, it came back about a month later, so I convinced him to use FireFox after I deleted it and it never came back... damn IE.

I've never used Opera, though. From what I hear, it's not that different from FireFox.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Joshgt2 on 2005-12-09 at 08:40:52
It is major difference *looks at browser*

I tested both Opera and FireFox and came to the point that FireFox just looks like Internet Explorer with a little bit of... shazam added to it. Is it better than Internet Explorer? Anything is better than that... well... AOL... ehhh... anyway. Opera and FireFox are the same? In a way. The layout of the browser is different which makes it a lot better than FireFox. I am not going to put FireFox down at all since it isn't close to the worse but I like Opera. The skins at really nice on here... I am thinking about making my own I hope...

What about Opera? Is it good anyone? I just got the browser, but I haven't had a chance to use it. I want to see whether it is worth browsing before I try out the actual program myself.

Folks, disregard my n00b post that was made in this thread earlier. I just tried out Firefox to see how good it was compared to Opera.

One word: Pwnage.

Firefox has got to be the best browser I've used so far. It's like Opera with less bugs. Normally, when I tried to play Runescape (yes, I play it tongue.gif) in Opera, it would crash. In Firefox, I have no problems. On Opera, I couldn't upload pictures on another forum I go to. Guess what? I can with Firefox.

It just goes to show you that you shouldn't say something is crap when you've never even tried it before. I learned my lesson, and I'm sticking with Firefox. lol @ Opera's attempt to make a better browser. bleh.gif

I'm not supporting IE, I'm saying there is absolutly no difference between Fx and IE.

Here's a screenshot in IE with Tabs.

WOW... how did IE do that... That is one of the major things I like about Opera that I didn't even think IE had... Another thing about Opera is the voice detection. I just say staredit to my computer and it redirects me right to my subscibed topics to see if anyone posted in them. I am not going to say wheather which browser is better so I wouldn't be bragging RJ closedeyes.gif but I will say that everyone has their own views on which is the best in their opinion, that's all

Installation or ram? I think ram is about the same but installation, Opera takes more.. unless it changed.

Firefox can customize as well. It's extremely easy too. (View, Toolbar, Customize)

Everything has that, it's called a help file. :/

No. It doesn't. tongue.gif

It does. It's in Tools.

Eh, I couldn't find anything, but I'm sure there are extensions that could make this possible.

Yeah, called tabs. Firefox has them too.

The only advantage here is the center thing. Not too great. Espcially when being compared to extensions, themes and the power of configuration (easy and hard way).

For those who just want to see the flashy lights, get IE TAB for firefox. It opens a page in firefox thats viewed through IE. Think IE inside firefox; less hassle, more sexy and see those flashy names (not important anyway). tongue.gif

If you want differences between IE and Fx, ask IP, for one.

Or, check WaSP's Acid2 test on different browsers. IE gets owned.

There is a major difference between FireFox and Internet Explorer... dry.gif I downloaded FireFox just to see what it was like and they are both totaly different things... Internet Explorer does not have the built in pop-up blocker and all that other control stuff. Does IE run all pages? I would think all of them... but is it better? In my viewpoint, no... but in someone else's viewpoint it might be yes... closedeyes.gif

Report, edit, etc...Posted by Joshgt2 on 2005-12-15 at 20:48:48
No it doesn't. You have to buy them for the browser to block stuff like that. Opera and FireFox don't have to worry about buying that because they already have them.
