I'd say that more than anything else a woman wants security - whatever that may mean to her. For some women, it's having a 'wimpy' man whom they can control, for others, a strong man who can comfort and protect them, others like an intelligent, charming man who they feel will always make them special. The choice is theirs - not ours. However, that doesn't mean you have to be Ah-nuld to have some choices.
I'm a fairly ugly, not-exactly-the-best-hygene-ever nerd. I am a hardcore, ultranerd. But I'm a nice, hardcore ultranerd, and I have half the cheerleading squad showing interest
Course, the only place it's mutual is with a girl in my Biology class, we get along fantastically well. If you get a girlfriend and you feel the relationship can go all the way (I mean marriage, sicko!), always make sure that you suprise her every now and then - women <3 that.

After breaking up, girls tend to have mood swings, just like when they have a baby. Since they don't like being with you, they think it is embarrassing to talk to you since your not together anymore, and she feels that you don't like her anymore so, why bother talking to you?
That is why you need to call her up, tell or ask her if you want to be friends again and just hang out as just friends. You can like her. You can love her. But just stay friends. That is the closest you can be with her after break up.
