dude. thats probably your school food.

and for toxins. not all toxins are that noticable. have you ever heard of slow things being effected? Growth spurts are effected too, slowed doesnt mean stopped. and weakened bones doesnt mean break on tap. Geeze. where are you getting your LOGIC from. toxin materials mean something that will harm. however, this does not mean kill, or in noticable. there are toxins that are noticable however. with Lead, you cannot really notice until you have lead poisoning. Lead actually weakens your bones. for in food, there might be worms. and for worm eggs, you cant really notice and you wont notice you'll just feel as like a stomach ache. jeeze.

Duh, I was mocking you. You think that just because your shirt had a hole in it and it happened to be made in China, that all Chinese products were poor and had toxins that stunted growth. But I guess I can't use sarcasm where it can't be comprehended. Oh and, how about you tell that to the scientists who have the equipment to detect toxins like that? There is no way mass-produced products with toxins in them would get past quality control because quality control has the technology to detect the toxins. Oh and I'll ask another time, where are you getting your information from? Yet I know you wont answer. Oh yeah and by the way, worm eggs don't survive when the food is deep fried.

P.S. You aren't Korean, and the articles you posted simply show that China is improving the quality of their products, not lowering them.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lithium on 2006-02-17 at 18:54:29
thats quite a news, they arent really doing it. and you don't have any technology to detect any toxin without opening the package and analyzing it. The toxin could go through any barriers called detectors and radars.
ever tried Kim chi? You dont cook em. And you also don't cook lettuce, unless you want to cook it really bad.
Chinese may make it so that they overdose in things that arent supposed to be that much. like anti-pest sprays... overdosed. o_O thats pretty sickening thing. by the way, they dont check all the food you idiot. They could send in one that is fine, and others that are really cheaply produced. They also do a regular check, however that regular doesnt sound seem so good. even america isnt perfect. you've got to know that sometimes by now.

p.s. - how would you know iam not korean?

Um don't go calling him and idiot and you say you live in Korea but in your profile it says "From Korea, Livin' in US." How is anti-pest spray overdosed? It already is bad enough for people and the enviroment.

Kim chi is eaten by many, many people, who don't have any problems. By the way, raw lettuce isn't harmful, so not boiling Kim chi doesn't do anything. I will give you 20 dollars for every time you have found a worm egg in your Kim Chi.

Oh yes, the Chinese must have mystical powers that makes the product that the quality control is checking, magically perfect in every way and decides to make everything else cheaply produced, that makes a lot of sense! Oh and I'll ask another time, where are you getting your information from? Yet I know you wont answer.

P.S. Don't call me an idiot.

lmfao, you are hilariously stupid lithium, do you honestly think the inspectors don't open the cardboard boxes and plastic wrappers?

and if these "toxic" materials were actually in chinese-made products(which have been rampant throughout north america for some time and stunt growth), how would you explain the general tallness of north americans?

Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lithium on 2006-02-19 at 05:05:19
you know, iam not that large my self. but the general tallness is usually caused by their general use of time. Koreans usually maim themselves with work/homework/studying. But if you live in america for sometime without those... ( getting good exersize ,going outside, getting good sleep, getting good meals = good health? )
and they dont open everysingle boxes you moron. * slaps zera * they don't. and most kimchi is eaten uncooked. or atleast i don't eat it unless you have to cook soups and kimchi rice.
they arent really that different. From start, 6'ft tall from middle schoolers are rare. Iam only 6'1 myself. but you know they dont have big difference. you know whats pathetic i've experienced in these days? many kids cant even pick up trombones and play without sweating themselves and exhausting themselves out. Its not my fault people are so "TALL" there. If they dont or you go over 6'11'', dont say your obscenely tall over asians.

thats manpower avaible for military service, and if they mobilized that number they would go bankrupt. plus their gdp is 3.8 trillion with a grow rate of 2%, thats quite far from the power of usa and european union

while china's economy is booming with a growth rate of 9% its because theres so much outsourcing there which is bad thing for usa

and for you people thinking its bad thing to make people work for low wages and long hours, most of those people are poor and without that 12cents an hour job would not survive

Well, it makes the US richer and most poeple in Japan actually lead pretty good lives, it's just that there's an overwhelming number of people on poverty.

Supplies imported from China are usually of poor quality but they are also really cheap. So therefore the countries buying from China aren't really losing anything. I bet you all anything that there are at least 5 things in each of your homes that are manufactured in China.

I know everything is made in china. You look at a random product and it says "Made in China" I don't know if its poor quality but sometimes it is.

I've heard alot of chinese products, and most of them are very dangerous. "or low in quality" Never. Ever. Buy. A Product. From. The. Chinese. NEVER! or what is "Made in China". I think they are being lazy and doing everything in slack. they do produce, but some companies in china put LEAD in food for anti-spoil. that is horrible.

I agree, but that is supposed to be the point. They make it for cheap, and since it's usually the "hip thing" or the thing people want, they sell lots of it for making it cheap. It's an ingenious but also a smart marketing skill. tongue.gif.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Hofodomo on 2006-02-19 at 21:28:43
though you will find some dangerous products, it's a gross misconception that many vendors are like that. most WILL get caught and shut down/jailed whatever...you just basically got ta know where to look

and actually, its more like never buy a product from the chinese while being white. they'll RIP OFF FOREIGNERS LIKE NO TOMORROW.

so bring along a native chinese buddy and barter like it aint no thang...that's where the goodness of chinese products lie wink.gif

Please refrain from making comments like that, it doesn't help. At least provide decent logic or evidence to back you up.

As for my own point of view, I realised a lot of China stuff really isn't top quality but you see that every nation is so dependant on the Chinese market that they can't possibly risk suffering their economy from not buying from them. However, I do try to avoid eating China produced foods, apparently a lot of them have added chemicals or the food is "fake". Thing is, they've sold fake eggs to Taiwan, and their soy sauce's colour have been discovered using human hair as the "dye". Also last time there were heaps of cornflour imported to NZ, there was lead discovered in it. Who knows what else...

thats just over a fifth of their entire population ---a HUGE number...(and i thought north korea had the highest military/civilian ration of 19%...)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deployment_of..._troops_to_Iraq
"Most Japanese Ground Self-Defense Forces (JGSDF) soldiers have been transferred to Samawa, which is a relatively stable province. They were known as the Japanese Iraq Reconstruction and Support Group (JIRSG). A total of 550 non-combat soldiers were deployed."

How about let's get on the topic at hand, shall we?

Everything is made by American companies that have outsourced to China. It's that simple.

Just because a little toy of yours broke, doesn't mean that everything that is made in China sucks.

Get over yourself.

And you say you're Korean. Do you see any Korean made things here in the USA, or anywhere else? Nope. Guess Koreans make horrible things "just like the chinese"

Please quit endorsing flames.

Things are made in china due to cheap labour.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Hofodomo on 2006-02-20 at 19:37:56
comparatively anyways...as my favourite despair.com poster goes, "people travel to the edges of the world only to discover one can hire labour for 10% the price of americans"

bascially that's just how it is...i'm not completely with the fact that cheap labour = cheap products, though. could be, but not always the case, eh? wink.gif

Not from large companies, those people still need to do a good job if they want to make money.

The thing is, you forget just how much cheap sh-it there is in the American market. The thing is that from China, for the same price, you can get ten times the amount. So, you get ten times the amount of products like the Nintendo DS and ten times the amount of those cheap toys you find in the dollar store. The ratio of "cheap sh-it" to quality products is leaning strongly to the former in most markets.
