I really want to try these "techniques" to aid you in eventually becoming able to control dreams. I have never had one of these dreams before, and actually, i seldom remember my dreams at all. That issue is relativly new though, maybe for the past 3 months. The most agrivating thing though, is when I remember a dream, it's always something weird/dumb. Like 2 days ago I got home from work at 10:30pm and I got home, took a shower then hopped on here (SEN) because this is a daily thing now. Then I logged off at about 11 and went downstairs (basement) into my room. I fell asleep and drempt that I was working. Nothing out of the ordinary. Just in the back kitchen making pasta and cooking some sauce and w/e Louie (the owner) was calling for up front. I felt like I worked another 8hr shift when I woke up at 7:15 the next morning and was exausted. Its things like that that bother me...

However here's a weird thing that scared the bejesus out of me. Please tell me if any of you can relate to this.

About a 3 months ago I drempt that I was being stalked by an unknown figure within my house, and my parents weren't home, they were on vacation in Europe for 2 weeks and I was in my room (which has no windows) and it was around 11 at night. The phone upstairs rang about 4 times but then it stopped. I looked out of my door and up the staircase and the light from our cordless phone was glowing eeriely under the door to the basement. I figured the figure was up on the ground floor and was doing something with the phone. I was terrified but still watched and waited. I took a silent deep breath and closed my eyes for maybe 3x the time of a normal blink and then the light from the phone was gone. Suddenly there was no noise. You know what im talking about too. There was nothing. no house fan, or heat/a.c. going through the air vents. no creaking or wind. Dead silence. I began to panic and moved backwards into my room again and tripped on my 1 stair that goes into my room. I gasped, but didn't hear the gasp... this made me really begin to flip out in my head. I tested it again, "hello?"... I couldn't hear my own voice, I couldnt hear anything. I went deaf. Then I tried to "hum" I did, I think... I couldn't feel the vibration of the hum. All of a sudden I had a panic attack and I woke up. When I woke up, I was relieved. I sighed with relief... but then, I didn't hear it I reverted back to that moment that I had the panic attack in the dream and tried to scream but I didnt hear it or feel it. Then I tried to sit up. But couldn't. Now I began to look around desperatly, fearful of what was happening in real life! Now I was paralyzed. I shut my eyes and tried to curl up into a fetal position, in the darkness I felt myself curl up, but when I opened my eyes I was still laying flat. I screamed so loud that my dad came downstairs to my room looking worried. I tried to say, "I cant hear anything, I'm deaf, and I can't move." but he just said something to me, and I couldn't hear it. He came over to me and I sat up like nothing was wrong. But still couldn't hear. I told him I was alright now, but it probably sounded weird, because I cant hear myself speak. But I got up (very wabbley legged) and got ready for school. I got in my car and started to drive to school, and then got up to the main road, and got cut off and I instinctively honked my horn and I heard it. I stopped my car right there, and re-evaluated the situation, "is this entire thing a dream?" no it was not, because it never ended. I am still in the same time bracket that I was then, there was no 2nd waking up or anything. It still scares me to think about that day.

If something like this has ever happened to you, PLEASE tell me.

Well, you've got some really big stuff there. The sleep paralysis and false awakenings can be construed as normal (even the hearing loss, that's happened to me). When the hearing loss continued to while you were awake, that's the really unusual part.

That's pretty spooky stuff. I can't think of any explanation except for the lobe of your brain responsible for hearing still thinking you were asleep when you weren't.

Had you been suffering from sleep deprivation before this happened?

Syphon I think everyone gets that feeling where you drop 3 feet, it's just something that happens wink.gif

If you guys want some good dreams get straight stoned then go to sleep right away wink.gif most vivid dreams ever.

I have had 1 lucid dream in my life which happened when I first heard about them. I remember a pure blankness then suddenly it was like a 3rd person camera swooped down from the sky right into my dream and into me which then turned into first person (much like a trackless roller coaster). I was in my school(when I went to first person it seemed I was already in the middle of a dream, infact I think I was mid-sentence) and it was like figuring out the matrix it all made sense and I realized I was dreaming. The first thing I did was test it by thinking of a shotgun which did happen, then I jumped out my school window and for some reason my house was right where I landed. I think it ended with pornographic photographs coming to life. Yeah... about that.

According to what I've read, that's very hard to do. Often the excitement or closing your eyes can cause you to lose it and wake up.

Yeah, I guess the adrenaline surge would wake you up. That's too bad.

I often lose my vision and/or running ability in dreams. My vision will be that of extreme blur (as if I was looking through my left eye, which is legally blind), and when I try to move with any amount of force, I'm held back as if I have extremely high inertia resistance. It doesn't always have to be running away from something, as I never have nighmares.
