"You suck and you're wrong, I'm right".

BTW, what is supposed to be "critism", how can I not take it when I don't even know what is it

That's basically what was suggested. And that'd just cause more spam in the mapping fourms, since people won't make maps, just post random crap about some map that they have no idea what it's about. If you force people to do things, things go wrong, or badly. You can't just tell people what to do, you have to persuade them.

Here's 10 people that don't post in the Map Making fourm:
One
Two
Three
Four
I'll post the rest later, SEN is being retarded and not letting me view profiles. It just keeps loading and loading.
If your going to say "HOW DUO U NEU DE'LL SPEM" since that's what you asked. I don't, I'm not physic, and I can't read people's minds over the internet.

Maybe if the staff members actually put their input into these ideas then these wouldn't happen. Since obviously DEAD will never listen to me, or anyone else. You guys can try saying if it will work or not.

Alright so even if we for some reason force these people to start posting in the map making forums, in what topics specifically are they going to post?

- Most of them probably could care less about maps being made in progress. They'll just be like "cool, sounds nice" or w/e, without actual discussion
- Since they do not spend much time with SC and map making, their knowledge of map making must be very low. They're probably of no use in the assistance forum
- Many of these guys don't even have starcraft on their computers (or they're probably still stuck with v1.05 or something of SC,) so they can't play maps that are in the map showcase forum.

The only cure to these problems so to have them WANT to participate; have them love starcraft again. Not for the minerals or post counts, but because it is starcraft, starcraft map making; something that all of us should be actively part of, something all of us were originally a part of before being introduced to SEN's "other" forums.

Starcraft is arguable Blizzard's greatest game yet, so let's cherish this game! Enjoy this game before you grow up and be burdened with worries and grown-up issues.

I liked the idea of a random map making tip on top of the SeN page, it would help alot of people and maybe increse map making. Mini you should re-add that smile.gif

Addicitve drugs!

Honestly, there is no way to change public opinion unless we start doing things like holding cash tournaments by levying a membership fee. That would go over reaaaallly well, wouldn't it?

I'm all for any map of the week competition that updates every week or two. It'd really show and support the activity of mappers, and would be really good if enough people participated. *thumbsup* to MA smile.gif

Even a list of random maps on the front page that updates at every refresh might be a way of publicising and stimulating mapping in general, I think.

hmm.. If we were to have a MotW competition set up, I think it should probably not take a news post every week, but have its own forum if possible - so as not to clog up the front page, and not to push important news posts off either. I would suggest that the current competition and winner(s) get publicised in a box above the news posts on the front page though.

If you leave Starcraft why should you leave your friends at SEN? Not saying I am leaving starcraft anytime soon.. I am just saying there is plenty to do even if mapping was and is not your big thing. Plus with that SCMLoader thing we can mix the modding with mapping. Some people are already making SCMLoader maps.
