I know I'm in a very biased position here, but there is no way we deserved to lose that one. We played like crap for the first 4 games, then put in a brave performance with one of our players sent off against Portugal, and lost. Oh, the irony.
Also, Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be hounded out of the country when he comes back to play for Man Utd. He got Rooney sent off and scored the penalty that put us out. I went on 'punch-a-celeb.com' and he's been punched 114,000 times in the last week - the next person on the list has been punched only a couple of thousand times - which kind of shows how pissed off England fans are with him. Smug little git.
Also, the Portuguese players were performing theatrical dives all evening - Maniche was touched on the shoulder by Peter Crouch and fell over, holding his face.
Mind you, Rooney over-reacted and after looking at the replays, he definitely stepped on Carvalho's balls on purpose.
I hope Portugal get thrashed in the Semis.

Rooney did deserve that Red Card, maybe not for stepping on the other guy's balls, that's just a biased opinion to be let in hand of the referee, but he did overreact and started threatening everyone, that's definetly a Red Card.

Too bad, Germany lost to Italy 2-0. I though it was going to go to a shootout and German being crazy good with penatly kicks would win. Funny thing is Germany still has yet to beat Italy in the World Cup. Germany was lucky throughout the whole game though especially during extra time (excluding the goals) Italy hit the post 2 times consecutively. Oh well, I wanted Germany to win but I guess it is going to be Italy vs France...
And yes Rooney deserved that card. Good goalkeeping by Ricardo at penalty kicks.

I thought it would just go down to a shootout, so I changed the channel around the 20th minute of extra time, next thing I know Italy wins 2-0. I'll be rooting for Italy. So far USA is the only team that's played Italy and hasn't lost to them.

omg South Korea lost to the swiss cuz the official was on the Swiss sides. He gave em like 4022342 free kicks for small reasons, and when Swiss did that the Ref dint call it.

It looks like they have a good chance though - Zinedine Zidane is on top form at the moment, right at the end of his career.

Germany lost to Italy because of lack of experience, they've only been playing for a year toghether, maybe less while the Italian team is highly experienced.
