FOr example, do you use e-mail? Almost any e-mail site is not-secure.

GMail and Yahoo are secure... the mails that you open might not be, though..

That's why you use a POP3 email address for your real one =\

I am sure that Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or any other big ad based e-mail service is not secure.

Its called an Anti-Virus System. It detects AdWare, SpyWare, Downloader, Trojan Horse, Trojan Zlob, etc.

Nortan AntiVirus and Internet Security Pwnz them all.

ADDITION: O and yes, i know alot of Virus and stuff because theyve come on my comp before and ive read about them and what they do. tongue.gif

Lol I had Norton before. And it died from the huge number of adware and stuff. And it died, my Windows explorer died, then Windows itself. I had to format my drive. After the format I got Nod32 anti-virus, Firefox and adaware. 1 monthly scan with nod32 and adaware, that usually finds nothing, + a safe browser and I havent had any problems. I rather choose a safe computer.

And "I havent got a single spyware from my sites" is just stupid. It's like "I've smoked all my life and didn't die", it doesn't mean that smoking doesn't kill. wink.gif

Ok, you say that norton stops all your spyware, but then why to use an unsafe browser at all. if you can use a safe one. I mentioned some things why Firefox is better than IE in the poll, but you say "I like the wrong way it shows website better" and stuff like that, I don't even know why. People it's time to move on, IE is history, Firefox is now. Step over yourself and spend those 10 minutes downloading and installing it. Or stop complaining that everyone says to "get Firefox", because we just want to help you.

Anyways Norton's still good....

It finds stuff on IE cause maybe sites that u dont know have viruses...it would still detect them on Firefox...

Fine, Ill get firefox people! Just so you guys will stop complaining...

Personally, the only times I've tried to tell someone that Firefox is better is when I'm speaking to one of my friends, and if they disagree I leave it at that.

QUOTE
Well.. considering there are sources there, I don't believe the information there was false.

Firefox is the best browser made.
Source
Now, my point here is that sources do not necesarily guarantee validity, which is true even if they, unlike mine, are factually correct.

QUOTE
BTW, Kow, I think they mention in there that "IE has it's fair share of security holes"

They don't, however, specify how many -- and if you tell me that one is less secure than the other, and only give me the numbers for one, think I'm going to believe you right then and there?

QUOTE
It isn't successful, of the main browsers it's by far the least used.

Er, ya, the "main browsers. Being classifiable as one makes it succesful. tongue.gif to you.

QUOTE
I'd also like to add that the website you linked to doesn't say why the other browsers are better overall, it just lists specific arguments.

That's because the author isn't trying to say that the other browsers are better, it's simply a page for breaking myths.

QUOTE
Shouldn't that be enough to prove right there that Firefox is not as good as Opera?

Nope, because it's a matter of opinion. tongue.gif

QUOTE
Does that make an OS bad? I have ran my computer, with applications for over 11 days straight, and I don't crash... but the thing is.. why would you run it over 11 days straight.. There is a shutdown button for a reason.

If an OS can crash itself without user interference, then yes, it is bad, as that means that it must be poorly coded in such a way that it's trying to perform in some way random actions or simply has some bad coding.

QUOTE
If i remember correctly you have to install the flash plugin, shockwave player, and java runtime environment yourself. Plus IEtab for opening iepages and fasterfox just to get the browser to load pages as fast as its supposed to.

I installed Firefox. I ran it. I went to websites, and they loaded as fast as I liked, except when there were issues with the server they were on. I have very little trouble with incompatability so far.
I never had to install anything except a few plugins I liked. While I cannot view certain movie files, that's because I don't have Windows Media Player or something.
"If I remember correctly", Internet Explorer needs to have seperate utilities installed for pop-up blocking, anti-spyware/virus, and more. But until I actualy go and run IE and try it out, I'm not going to try to use that as an argument of Fx's superiority in regards to how long it takes to get setup.

Well, there was proof given.. yours is just an opinion.
I'm not arguing about IE, because it does have it's numerous security holes, but so does Firefox, so when people are like "LOL FIREFOX IS SAFE WAY ITS FASTER THAN IE LOL BEST BROWSER EVER!" they're wrong.. because Firefox has security holes, IE proved to be faster(Both 6 and 7), and technically, since Opera is safer, and faster.. and can do everything Fx does and more... it should be the best browser..
Windows will not crash itself if it is being used normally, etc. Point being.. don't run your computer for 2 months straight, shut it off when neccesary, etc.
Well.. if the browser is faster than Fx, has everything it can do.. over 100 less security holes currently unpatched..
Yes, you need to install plugins and stuff for all of that stuff.

But what I don't get, is that people say "FIREFOX IS BETTER THAN IE, IT'S SAFER, MORE CUSTOMIZABLE, AND FASTER(even though that's not true..) But then when you give them a browser that's more customizable, faster, and more safe, Firefox is still better.. Isn't that sort of hypocracy?

Well, there was proof given.. yours is just an opinion.

In such an instance where there is 'proof', 'opinion' is a null concept.
If it is somehow "proven" that Oprah is better than Fx, than one cannot have an opinion otherwise -- only a belief that the proof is not, in fact, proof.
Firefox has a cooler name, and is therefore superior to Oprah.

QUOTE
they're wrong.. because Firefox has security holes

They never said it didn't. Until I see someone stating a number of security holes for IE, and it's lower than what they say Firefox has, then, from their perspective, assuming they weren't making the numbers up, Firefox is less secure. So far, I have not seen this. And to get this out of the way, I'm not saying that Firefox is safer, right here, but that I have not seen proof either way.

QUOTE
IE proved to be faster(Both 6 and 7)

In most cases. Computers, despite how people treat them, are inconsistant, due to their users' use of them, and some people have 'proven' that, atleast on their computer, one browser is somehow faster than the other.

QUOTE
But then when you give them a browser that's more customizable, faster, and more safe, Firefox is still better.. Isn't that sort of hypocracy?

Given only the stated information? Yes.
But the problem is that for some reason, for some people, Oprah runs slower, crashes, or does other odd things. Thus, it loses popularity, and less people use it, and so it gains unpopularity.
