Here contacts in FF, left aligned, right by the contact icons.

IE, why the heck they hang in the middle of the page? But you will probably say, "hey I like this way better" anyway, so w/e. It's just lame that it's centered everywhere.

I can't agree with you more on the subject of centeredness, DEAD.

I like Fx because of the bookmark toolbar too.

Yea, I love the bookmark toolbar. smile.gif

Wait, you mean you actually like that everything is centered?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JordanN_3335 on 2006-07-29 at 13:39:34
Well I still use IE as it is standard but slow at loading pages and bleh the others.
Another old internet browser was netscape but its sucks.

Yeah, all the centering is ugly beyond belief.

I don't exaclty like that centering, especially when it's a list like that... but, the centering of your posts in the "Show users posts" and stuff like that, I don't mind..

And again... whens the last time you actually looked at that stuff =\

No offence Farty but that is one of the most stupid things I have heard in a while.
WTF were you thinking about when you wrote that line? Thats all I can say...
Firefox does. I will have something set to a nice size and then open it in FireFox and its like 3 times wider and the borders aren't the 1px I told them to be.

QUOTE(Mini_Booze_2708 @ Jul 29 2006, 06:37 AM)
Seems the same to me. I don't see many websites that use border shadowing though.
The shadowing is the 3D look. FireFox uses a really light color, and a really dark color. That looks very crappy. IE uses closer colors so it actually looks like the color I put in the CSS.

QUOTE(Mini_Booze_2708 @ Jul 29 2006, 06:37 AM)
CSS...
CSS...
Uhh, no. I do not use CSS for my cell spacing, and as far as I know IE and FireFox both use "border:color style width;".

QUOTE(Mini_Booze_2708 @ Jul 29 2006, 06:37 AM)
Bad host lol, and if they doesnt show in FF they doesn't show in IE either because they are not there. Except if you block images with FF, then of course you don't see them. tongue.gif
IE shows the images. Fx shows some wierd ugly thing.
user posted image I prefer seeing images (IE).

QUOTE(Mini_Booze_2708 @ Jul 29 2006, 06:37 AM)
What is that supposed to mean?
FireFox makes the buttons 3 times wider, which in my opinion looks kinda bad.

QUOTE(Mini_Booze_2708 @ Jul 29 2006, 06:37 AM)
Everything is like centered. Page has blank white space in the corner. In the space where ads were placed IE shows ugly error, FF shows nothing. But the most annoying thing is this centering. Everything is centered, like concats, sigs in profile, active member list, and everyhting. SO lame. laugh.gif
The centering is a problem in SEN's CSS.

QUOTE(Mini_Booze_2708 @ Jul 29 2006, 06:37 AM)
BTW, IE chrashed 1 time while I was browsing SEN. tongue.gif
BTW, Fx crashed many times while I was browsing many sites. tongue.gif

Did I mention FireFox takes 10 years to open, 10 years to find a page, 10 years to load the page, 10 years to display the page, then 10 years to respond to something I do? IE I just click and its done. (Unless I have a slow internet connection, but that is normal.)

Yes, FF and IE both crash. I believe that computer setting depending. Because IE crashes almost every time I run it, but it doesn't crash for other ppl. FF has never crashed for me since I changed my HD.

His computer is even worse than my is. Firefox loads faster on my computer than IE, end of story lol. And looking at the charts, FF actually should load webpages faster than IE. Look at the "multiple images" part as well as "Script speed". Mostly if not always, images & scripts are the bigest pieces of webpage. For example SEN index:
  • Html - 136Kb
  • Javascript - 47.5Kb
  • images - 175Kb
Even if IE loads the html(136Kb) faster. FF loads JS + images (222.5Kb) faster. Which means that FF loads faster than IE.

Then there is something wrong. Hey, if Firefox works better for you, go ahead and use it. I prefer Firefox over IE, but I'd rather use Opera.. smile.gif
The computer did not change though, and all system requirements were met, so it does not matter.

Fx is slower than IE in the "multiple images" timing..
I'm not sure if Fx's slow cold startup, and everything else..(But mainly the cold startup.) outweighs it's "script speed" =\
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Gigins on 2006-07-30 at 17:19:15
I have no idea what "cold startup" is.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-07-30 at 18:30:15
Cold start
This is the time it takes to do a cold load. I log out then in, and then once all background processes have completed, I run the browser as the first program. I use the default settings for the browser, without preloading or quicklaunch tools (unless the browser installs itself this way, as with Internet Explorer on Windows). The browsers are all set to show a single page on startup, and this page is a locally stored basic HTML page.
Warm start
After completing a cold start, I close the browser, then time how long it takes to start again. I restart it again another two times, and take an average.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Gigins on 2006-07-31 at 05:00:14
Then I must say the charts lie. Firefox doesn't cold start 17 seconds rolf. tongue.gif

Report, edit, etc...Posted by Gigins on 2006-07-31 at 11:39:51
Then whats the point of the chart. For some guy with a prehistoric computer it may as well run slower. But it runs faster on a normal computer. Eh whatever.

It's probably hell of a different on different computers.

Uh, none of what I said is "bullcrap". You just love your browser too much to accept it I guess. Either that Fx has no real set defaults making it vary a lot for each person; which is a bad thing.

What the hell are you talking about Fx is faster? I have made entire posts with IE and FireFox hadn't even started loading the page.

Did I mention that view source in FireFox gives you a changed code? Viewing source in Internet Explorer just opens the file in notepad.
