F&D took about 3-3.5 years of work over a 5 year period. I took about a year break and some other, smaller breaks.
Also, if you've finished the game, please complete the playability survey and email it to me!

The magic maze is waaaay too hard for me---the Ogre just WON'T get out of his cell even I attack him! What should I do?
Hey the filename is too long, you have to edit it to play the game, this will cause people to RE-DL the game, and with the music mode that'd be horrible. You should shorten it to Fate and Destiny v1.5 or something along that line. Gj finishing this, enter it in moogle's contest fool.

No offense but after 2 years of waiting for the final map, I just gave up. It doesnt seem much of a big deal. After all new maps are released with new Battle systems and vHP.
Except those maps with vHP and advanced battle engines aren't completed maps. At least, I haven't seen much of them anyways. But that's not the case in point. What truely determines a great RPG is the overall atmosphere and plot. One can sum up RPG games as a story that you take control of the movement of the character and fight random battles, just to make the story more interesting. Of course, a souped up battle engine could always be a plus. But this battle system really isn't that bad. It's present in some of the upper tier RPGs, such as Xuru, Deathknights and FFIII/VI.
Will "Fate and Destiny 1.5 No Music" work?

Fate Destiny V1.5 NS
NS for no sounds. Plus it looks and sounds catchier than No Music.
I updated the zips with shorter file names.

What the freak is up with the freaking maze part, it did this in the beta too... it would go to that cutscene with the prizoner and then the cutscene wuld never end I mean wtf omfgbbqlol!@ WTF is with this glitch ive seen it like 10 times.

Anyways, what took so long for that 5%. Took like 4 years to finally finish.
It was about 35% to finish. I also have college.
Tdnfthe1, what cutscenes did you watch? Did someone in your game drop? Was the game funky otherwise?
-EE
Use F&D v1.5 Lite for the no sounds version.
EDIT- ...or Diet F&D v1.5

It was in the maze when there is a cutscene for you to save that prisoner after you go through the door, it always gets stuck there. Our characters stayed orange and we never got any info or anything. Big glitch.

Up to that point, what scenes did you watch?
Also, if you're playing in 1P mode, try hitting ESC.

>>Topic pinned 10/17/2006
I think the reason is obvious.
congratulations on the pinned topic endarire!
i just wish my computer could play it without massive lag
Ah, I remember this map from waaaay back. It was one of those maps that inspired me to make rpg maps in the first place ^_^
Nice to know it got finished, three cheers!
"Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hoor-... ah screw it"
Luckily, midterm week is over for me (2 midterm reports + 1 midterm exam = suicide). Hopefully, my friends will be on this weekend to play with me.
Good job!
I have no idea if this has been brought up before, but I was playing it (for mog's contest) and I noticed that at the beginning whenever I left a battle it always respawned me to the statue but center viewed me to where I had been before. It took me several tries to get to the gate and the first boss (well, a few tries before I turned evade on
). I don't know if this problem persists anywhere after you leave the gate (I died in my first battle after) but it took away from my experience
Glad to see the map in it's completed—or therearound.
Haha, this is a very awesome map. It has all the features of a very good RPG: indept storyline (the ability to disable/enable cutscenes was a real thriller!), random battle systems (along with an 'actual' TBC system!), inventory, money...you just get the idea. Most of its basic, but the TBC system made it all worthwhile!
I mean, I've tried to implement the idea into one of my maps, but I can't even get the random battles right. Congratulations.
Anyway, there were some things I did not like.
The random battle systems when you were attacking was a bit crappy. It would take too long to win/lose. I mean, everytime you attack an enemy, they run away, and it takes 4 seconds to catch up after them. You'd have to use battle cry liberally just for some release.
Due to Starcraft's improvised time system, we have become adapted to it, and because of your TBC system and its 'flaws', we become impatient.
Whenever you exit a building/battle, you end up back at the statue.
1) It would take too long to walk back to where we were. It'd be easier to take us back TO WHERE WE were before it happened.
2) If you're placed back at the statue every battle, then, every same amount of steps a battle occurs, you'll battle again at the same line in which you got a battle at.
And otherwise, it was kinda hard to understand. I'm not a story indept person, but more like a game skill person. So, technially, I base my opinion off of the gameplay...and I rate this a:
7.5/10
This map is sweet good job it looks like you put alot of time into it and it paid off this is one of the best RPG's I ever played
