I'm getting Crime and Punishment today, is it any good?

Ugh I hated that book when I was forced to read it in 11th grade. Once I actually sat down and read it on my own later, I enjoyed it. It has tons of imagery and metaphors that you have to watch out for. And Dostoyevsky is a very lengthy writer, so if you're a slow reader it may take a while to get through.

Insanely lengthy. I'm not that far into it, but I like it. And I'll be sure to look out for those metaphors you mentioned.

When I was in 6th grade I loved Artemis Fowl and the Outsides, and the Great Brain series and of course Gary Paulson.

These though are my favorite books that are adult difficulty.

Wheel of Time by: Robert Jordan (11 book series 12 with prequel)
Into the Darkness by Harry Turtledove (6 book series kinda WW2 like)
Great War: American Front by Harry Turteldove (3 books for the WW1 era though theres 9 books for the whole series I have read the first four)
The Videssos Cycle by Harry Turtledove (9 book series I have read 2 smaller but more compact books though)
The Eyes of God by John Marco (3 book series though not enough action in book)
Song of Ice and Fire by George R Martin (I have read the first book its a four book series)
The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind (10 book series gets less interesting as it goes on)
The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks (I have read a couple books of it its good)
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenent the Unbeliever by Stephen Douglass (8 book series currently divided into three triligys ive read the first three its a gripping story of a leper)
Memory, Sorrow, and Thron by Tad Williams (3 book series its a good book to leave you day dreaming but he doesnt right it that good)
Lord of the Rings by Tolkien (3 book series)
Simarillian by Tolkien

Alll of these except the Videssos Cycle are atleast 400 pages in length per book in the series.

And while I'm at it, some of my favorite short stories:
- Harrison Bergeron
- An Alien Agony
- Wang's Carpets

My favorite authors are Harry Harrison and Poul Anderson, and if there's one author I should warn you against wasting your time with, it's Madeline L'Engle.

I like fantasy books like the Harry Potter series.

If I were to choose between Harry Potter and Eragon...it would be Eragon

If I were to choose between 'Promise of the Lich King' and 'Eragon', it would be 'Promise of the Lich King'... a true masterpiece.

wow. There is a better book than Eragon...Imma have to go to the library and search for this book looking forward to it

Blu, it's good if you read all the other novels and know the backgrounds of the characters. If you don't do that, you might not like it as much. Ah, the bookstore is getting a lot of money off you .

Hehe, they sure are. I'm going to finish reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. My gf let me borrow it, and she got it from France , has a different cover of course.

Promise of the Lich King's sequel sucked. 'Road of the Patriarch'. Terrible ending.

Catcher in the Rye, a true masterpiece. Also, Hatchet and its Brian's series.

The recluce saga and the wheel of time saga. Those books provided me hours of entertainment.

I have many favorite books so I will list a few off of the top of my head:

I know I'm forgetting a few of my favorite books but this list will have to do for now. I read the first Eragon book but it didn't impress me much. The first book of the Bartimaeus trilogy (which I got at the same time) impressed me a lot more.

That book is really great. It makes you think. I didn't sleep a whole night trying to figure out how people had been hoaxed into thinking the greenhouse effect was just a lie.
