How about solitare? That game has always worked.
Or how about chess. Starcraft's grandmother.

It's a publically avaliable IPB/IF mod.

But is the "StarCraft" version of it available as a public IPB mod? I never saw one before I came here.
Does anyone know about KckKryptonite's StarCraft forum? I think he had some cool RPG-like game on there that he made but I don't remember what happened to it or what it was about really. I just know it involved StarCraft.
Aw, that sucks. If I remember correctly, posts added to your EXP and minerals as either a Terran, Zerg, or Protoss unit. And later on you could use that to level up and buy weapons/upgrades for yourself.
But I only posted a few times and my memory of the game could be completely off, so don't take my word for it.
Edit:
Woot! Elite (as if it means something anymore)!
wow yeah
Get a game where you get experience for posting.

Speaking of that, what ever happened to Moose and Merrell's
secret solitaire project?
zOMG I can play solitare anywhere.
I like unique games.
Lol yeah.

ya, i know... whats with people wanting to bring very common generic games here... use something that unique or at least more rare than texas holdem.
Well, then make a unique game, Just wondering who is going to want to code a couple unique games, or find one that can be edited to use SEN minerals. I dont think bringing Texas Hold'em would absolutely ruin SEN's reputation.
Why not run a game-design competition?
Ok, thanks devlin. But how does it work just being on SEN. Like actually playing? In-game wise?
That would be a good idea. Have a competition of who can make the best game, then have the top 2 or 3 depending on how good all of them are and have them made for SEN v5! I cant do it though

I started toying with a chess game ages ago... mostly to learn javascript. Coding chess is a female dog though. If I would take that project up again, I'll do it in AJAX because refreshing constantly sucks. The idea was you could challenge other players for minerals.
I also have another super complicated game I would like to do... If I have the time, it should be quite cool... think of it as something like zerg pets... but better.
As far as armies... I don't think so. At least, not right away... armies did suck though and anything remotely similiar would have to be coded so much better... and actually be a lot better. I would need massive help from a lot of people to code something like this... like DTBK with his crazy but effective equations.
As far as the arcade... I would love to bring it back and I believe I made a topic in the v5 alpha forum for anyone who is extremely dedicated to the arcade to find good, classic-ish games like we used to have (tetris, etc)... email the authors asking for permission to use their game and the source to make small edits to work in an arcade script... in exchange for a link to their home site and whatever. I don't think anyone took me up on that challenge. The problem with the arcade is that the scores in the memory wasn't encoded... allowing easy memory hacking... or something.
I also wanted to do some type of scratch card game...
As far as any games, there are a crap load of more important things to code.
Yes, I know what you mean, I dont want to have to refresh the page every time, that would stink a lot. I like chess as an idea, but for some people they may not like it because it is too common. Maybe we could have another simple game added to 50/50 and Magical boxes, like a guessing game. I could write it too, cause its simple, a game where you guess a number from like 1 to 10 and if your right you get 50 minerals or somehting. It could cost 20 minerals to play it too!

Well in your control panel, you'd choose which race you are (like a Terran Marine, Protoss Zealot, or Zerg Zergling). Then each post would give you experience based on how many characters are in the post (similar to how you get minerals here).
With more experience and minerals, you can upgrade yourself and buy weapons and armor for yourself (because essentially you are supposed to act as that character). You can also buy items and all that jazz.
Anyway, you can duel other players in battles or battle random units in an arena for more experience and to gain higher levels. I don't know how the battles worked (like how yuo determined a hit and actual damage done, but i assume it was something similar to rolling dice in D&D).
Is there a way we can replicate this game here if people were interested? Come to think of it, I probably made up about half of what I posted above based on what I think would be cool compared to how it actually worked. But I think this would be a fun game, nonetheless. If someone else can explain how it
actually worked (like if KckKryptonite was here), then my butchered synopsis can be disregarded.
Wow. Sounds alot of fun

Thatd be fun to bring it back!
Yay, SEN is back up! And I am just wondering if anyon is coding these yet. Can we have a poll on what games people come up with. If so post what you want.
I wouldn't bother... ultimately we'll never code anything that we don't want to code. And I have no desire to code a game that I've never played.

Fine then, I'll go make my own StarCraft armies game. With blackjack... And hookers.
You guys are making a big mistake here. Ok, henceforth it shall be known as "SEN Battlefields!"
Well, are we going to have more game options on v5, if so many people want to have these more choices of games, all together I am sure we would be able to come up with some code for it.
I don't recall saying I wasn't going to code any games. In fact, I recall saying that I was planning some.

I was mostly replying to this, because it sounded to me as though all the games that would be coming on SEN would not be coded by you. Because how can you play something that hasnt been coded?

Rephrase, Re-edit, Re-type

I don't think anyone can understand what you just typed.
