If there's a number over 128 in the map size, don't use it.
Alright, thanks for all the help getting everything clarified.
When I saw the map bounds, I was assuming hoping it meant that as long as it was the "medium" sized (64x256, 96x192, 128x128, 192x96, 64x256 or smaller) would work.
Now to figure out how to shove my layout into a 128x128... Maybe I should just shoot for three paths instead of four... hmmm...

Lines being the path. Teh bounds. I doubt you'll win with a bound, though.
When I said "map bounds" I was referrencing the size limits, not the actual bound-style maps.
Actually, what I'm aiming for is something similar to AoS + Dragons, for a good example, see the PS3 game Lair.
Oh, sorry about that
. People usually use dimensions for that.
Crammed it all together. Took five attempts at building the terrain until I found one I liked.
I also have my basic triggering done, so as of right now, it screams "Aeon of Strife". When the Dragon Knights (player characters) are added, I hope it feels like AoS, but doesn't feel like a total rip.
I have a question regarding the rules. Since I just started messing around with "extended terrain" (due to a lack of a terrain editor for Mac), I asked WoodenFire to help with the blending mistakes I made on my map (I've got a
thread in Terrain if you need some sort of reference to what I'm talking about).
Does that disqualify my map from this month's contest because I got him to help me, or is it okay? I wasn't sure if this would technically be considered a team project now because he helped me with some of the terrain, or if its okay since I'm the one doing everything else.
EDIT:
Despite Devilesk's desires, WoodenFire did not do the terrain for me. But if getting help from him is against the rules, so be it. Just figured I'd be honest about it.
Hahaha!
I've worker a lot on my map, NOBODY will overpass me this time!!!
NOTE: Could Moose add 100kb more to the map size?
Moose, how would you know if someone actually threw some modded crap in there? Unless you check everyone's map with WinMPQ or only play with SCMLoader, you wouldn't.

wha...
don't you need to be playing with SCMloader for the 'mod' to work?
The maps are due the night of the 29th, right? The wording confuses me a little bit. If that's the case then my map should be complete by then.

No.

Thanks for nothingI don't need them elseI wonder how my map is going to do.
The best thing about these contests is that it's a good gauge of what makes a map good and by looking what other people did that made them win and not you, you can improve your map making skills.
I'm going to be submitting Dragon Slayer RPG. With my map I'll be pleasantly surprised if I win 1st, and disappointed if I don't get at least an honorable mention.
EDIT: It's going to be interesting if XtremDinosaur wins this
Close one, sent in my map the day before the deadline.
I really hope I squashed that last bug, it was a really slippery one.
I sent my map...
Its completely bugged, but lets see how it works
I'm going to send my map any second now.
Like seriously within the hour.
ADDITION:
SCMDraft raped my map beyond recoverability.
I'll attach what's left of it here (it crashes upon startup due to SCMDraft raping the strings).
Being sick and tired of this crap (a while ago it raped my EUDs to) I'm going to learn C and make some map making programs.
I submitted my map, I have a feeling I'll do good. Please judge these quickly Moose.
Meh, I needed more time.
Here's a simple Dragon Mass map I just made, whew!
I think it should do finely, this time I added a tutorial to prevent confusion.
It should be bug free, for two reasons:
A. It's amazingly simple, not much to go wrong
B. I tested most of the features

I did mine in an hour-and-a-half!
ADDITION:
And, about the mod thing, Feel free to put mod stuff in there, but all it's going to do is raise your filesize. Nothing will happen, especially seeing as how he would just play it on regular SC, not SCMLoader.
Can't/Couldn't finish in time...
Ah well, I'll still finish up the map for the DLDB. Assuming that crap doesn't hit the fan, three cheers for the holidays, busiest time of the year!
Moose how many entries did you get?

Why ask? Someone asks every month, and he never answers
