Wow, seems like you have your plate full with this map tuxedo. So you figured out how fix the confliction between swarm of players and ammo. Hmm, unlike THD where you had keep away from players because you couldn't shoot if in your area. But i thought you said was no ammo? Just wasting Gas or Engery? I know you have like 20 or so different weapons which you can switch between for a player. Then you have your " Life support system?¿ " if your still having that in the map. Will hitpoints system be same as THD. When you swarm it it changes color from units n stuff? Or you trying whole need system. This map sounds like going take like 6 months or something so your going be busy with this map for longtime (may) get bored of it in the progress. Also map you showed me with the um Menu System is that same menu you going use for the map? Or something different. Because that system was pwnage, but some Rookies (Aka: Noobs) May get confused by the menu system.. Anywoot i think i typed enuf. Sigh. Kupo Out.

Well I polished up the menu system and made an in-game explanation of it, and even added a holographic training area for good measure (players don't get to leave until they've mastered all the major gameplay elements muahahah).

As for ammo and HP, this is where things get a little weird. There is no ammo, as all "ammo" is synthesized on the fly (AKA uber technology), but you do have to "reload" often when shooting your weapon, which recharges your defiler's mana and draws from your overall energy (gas) supply. Nearly everything from tools (spells), gunner mode, mechans, and droids uses energy, so aside from item inventory there's little to worry about managing-wise, sept maybe also upgrades, which helps keep things at least somewhat simple and centralized.

The HP system is a mix, though. Mechans, droids, and hired mercenaries (which amount to cannon fodder late game, though) attack enemies the normal way. Gunner mode however doesn't touch an enemy's HP, but instead takes off it's virtual HP (ala THD's player owner-based HP system). There are 3 comp players representing 3 stages of HP loss, and for each the attack upgrades, armor, speed upgrades, etc. differs, making it so as enemies get hit more they "weaken" in a different way than losing their normal HP. Part of the strategy will be to decide what method is best against certain enemies, since an enemy that may take a lot of hits with gunner mode may die quickly to a player's mechan attack units, and vica versa. Lots of possibilities.

Wow, sounds like to much work for just one map. Mmm i guess this will take you awhile just to get a finishing product of the map out. Hp system sounds bit odd but cool. When your in defiler form will your gas go back up slowy? Another thing. How many like mini-bosses or big bosses going be all up?

I think I know how the save feature works. It has to do with switches, correct?

Just 10 switches can provide 1024 different/unique save files. (Switches can work like binary code to store data.)

When the player beats the first map, it tells him/her a binary code, then the code is put in using a dropship menu or something at the beginning of the sequel.

What if someone types a random code and goes "KEWL I GOT 999 MONAY, and IM LEVEL 98!!one1!".

Passwords always have problems... if this is a 4 map thing, multiplayer would not be possible or even hard to work. Your best bet is to save it using starcrafts save game feature.

Funny how I saw this thread at blizzforums... Aren't official threads supposed to be... well... one thread?

Yeah, it is funny, still, i think this is looking great, lets hope the Storyline can provide to the gameplay, and enable the users to really experience some RP, not just an amazing trigger system, because that will appeal to a greater audience, and will look better in the long run for your final large project. Which i believe this is?

Some people visit blizzforums and some SEN, and even so I get more ideas and input with 2 of the same thread in different locations; even among the same group of people (interestingly enough), than simply one centralized thread. It's redundant, sure, but useful.

Most reasons people won't create a very good bnet Rpg is that the file is to huge and dousn't want to wait for long time... me i have the patience for anything...

Edited: In the A&O Trailer, where the Androms use (i think) a gun attack on the Ultralisks...
If that is a weapon in the real A&O what is it called?

That gun is the main and perhaps only weapon i believe. If you have ever played "Trigger Happy Defense" which i highly recommend, it is the same as that, fired by Dark Swarm that a defiler casts.
