I used to play alot of the xx vs. xx type maps. Those were definetely some of my favorites. Unfortunetely there are now 10000 newbie edits of this style of map so it's hard to find a worthy version. If you have a good version please attach it.

I have a new favorite map:
The A&O Trailer. It was the best movie map. Ever.
By Tuxedo-Templar.

Maps by SentryIII (way back in 2000)

Offensive Strike - Players race against the clock to build units and attack the computer players in the center of the map. First level is to kill 4 spawning pools (Defended by lurkers crazy.gif ). With the newbs on bnet these days, I haven't been able to get past lvl 3. 20 random levels.

[attachmentid=2491]

Terran Defense - One of the first maps to use ISOM. Players use the entire Terran race to build on the lanes. Minerals and gas are given at the start of each level. If the comp units get past the players, they go to the computer player bunkers (You don't lose automatically!). There are even 'cheat codes' to make the comp bunkers repairable or start with probes instead of scvs (I don't remember any of them though). 10 levels for Basic, 20 for Superior and Suicide modes (all with random levels)

[attachmentid=2492]

Total Survival Tactics - An easy Survival map where you start out with minerals and 4 workers of your chosen race. You search for mineral/gas deposits and build like mad to try to survive for '24 hours'. Cannons = win...usually. The waves of zombies are endless.

MTG Magus, all the time...
I hope I attatched the right version...

Why MTG Magus?
It is a brainy game...not those mass-all-and-rush-like-an-idiot games...
Timing is very important. Quality over quantity and quantity over quality is often seen. Spells are balanced, units are balanced, no cheats avaliable.
Pity no one likes good maps nowadays...(no offense to ppl on SEN)

Tsk, tsk, and you say we don't attach them...

Anyway I have to admit the first map that impressed me and I still have feelings for is Gauntlet Legends which I wish I had the original.

I remember making game upon game of Ice Bound...

House of Haunted also was a good map, it showed me that not all maps are comical.

Panzer_Kavalier makes interesting maps such as Starship Troopers SE, Urban Combat and the more recent Racoon City.

Though I respect Salacious's opinion, it would be more appropiate to say why it sucks and the thread's purpose was to state your favorite maps, not to judge others...

And that song is from Benny Hill. You can find it in the DL DB.

Ack I would list Normady under the maps that suck but got way too much attention. I don't think i could make a map gets really old after the first 5 minutes as well as normady did if i tried. Maybe i saw it too late anything repeitive like 90% of rpgs just annoys the crap out of me.

To make my post not compleatly off topic i'll talk about some maps i have liked.

- Zone Control one of my favorates from times long passed.
- To say something positive about panzer Marine Special Forces was one of my favorate maps back in the day.
- Build Maxtrix Defense there is a really old version made by (U) (the person), that was quite popular. I like defense maps where you have mine your own resources and have to advance though the tech tree.

I think I liked the old maps better than the newer maps that are proboly 3 times as good, because by the time i saw them i been playing UMS for too long. Around the time when dodge maps were interduced followed by bound maps was when thing started getting old. I have more fun making fun of horrable defense maps yet still trying to beat them now days like Star Photon Cannon Defense. lol i always built a circle around the end and pissed everyone for "stealing" there kills. (retards) I would always say like "what i thought we were a team" lol many defense maps the whole team benifits greatly if someone steals all the kills. Oh well its shutup time.

ADDITION: OMG i forgot to list Prison Escape The first one that Warcanas Made. It was like insperation when I made my first popular map The Rock. It was so cool in its sucky glory and the creator was only 11 when he made it yet it was the most popular map around at the time.

Quests Open RPG is my all time favourite. I keep playing it again and again with others, its just so fun buying towns and stuff, but I hate how noobs quickly leave. As far as I know, they never released a full version past 1.2, which is quite a pity.

As far as I am concerned, ALL RPG maps on SC sucks.
No really, just think of it. The story line is all the same. What happens is all the same. You get a extra-super-powerful-tough-unit-kicking-all-asses running around like a god and you kill some bastards who wants to destroy the whole world for no damn reason at all...
Boring.
I will never give any hope for any RPG on B.net. That's why I don't call my RPG map an RPG. RPGS on SC are like an insult on maps nowadays.

*If in doubt, read this post:
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopic=1051

Zone control...how can I forget this map? Worms is good too. However...I see NO players playing these maps you have mentioned in this post, or they are very rare.
One of the most popular and perhaps the best map seen around on B.net:
Impossible Senerios (sorry for the missspelling...)

Hey guys please attach the maps that you mention!!

Thanks smile.gif

[CK Edit: Thanks for the pointless spam, please don't repeat, your warning level will be raised. Although i'm sure you want to see all these maps, use your time and view them either in our vast Download Database, with a quick search of the right catagory. The majority of them are listed, mainly the older ones, so you really shouldn't have an issue finding them. View the title of the topic, and think if your post will really add something to the conversation which enables it to continue, with people commenting on YOUR post, and not just having to ignore it.]

I linked my maps instead of attatching them.
Save for the MTG Maps, 'cause there is no such map on SEN

Then send them to the Team SEN to check and get them added.

I did, but I couldn't.
Just wait till I actually bother...
Or you can just download the file from my post and do it yourself...if you actually bother.
MTG is such an underrated map...no matter how hard I tried to promote it, no one plays it 'cause they hate to use their brains...Until the day our clan broke, we still have less than 100 players(newbie or not) who plays this map, less than 30 are experts and less than 10 master ever exists...so sad...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .Coko[CK] on 2004-10-30 at 10:39:36
Actually there is a lot of people who play it, or its many forms, but there are ways to play it which means you can always win...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by iamandragon on 2004-10-31 at 14:03:06
There a cheats and pirated versions of MTG Magus V2, but the one I attatched is the best, and the most approved by all MTG experts. It's got anti-cheat installed on it, too.
I told you, there's is really little people playing this map. Trust me, I've got statistics even when I'm not online. There has only been a total of 3 people entering the MTG clan channel since the last month, and one of them is me...
Most experts are tired at playing super-newbs+flamer+idiots who immediately leaves the game because he/she/it simply can't use his/her/its brain. THen they find no one to compete against, and slowly the left one by one...*glup*
Report, edit, etc...Posted by .Coko[CK] on 2004-10-31 at 17:08:49
Thats just the way things go, basically the different versions were complicated to the average user, and when a good player got them, well it was annoying so they didn't play again.

I really like that space pirates map, could someone please post it so that I can play it again? Thanks and sorry I don't have the map myself to post.
