Yoshi my classes also ended on the 17th... Is it like that in Canada you start classes right after new years, because in Puerto Rico we celebrate 3 kings day and we alsways start classes on the 9th usually.

Those old SEN pics are 2 small to appreciate.

SC2 editor sort of like C++?? what about us little programing people? if I start out as a total noob in Sc2 Mapmaking and don't get the editor I know that SEN will help me. Some because i'm just Map Team others because I'm teh uber BeeR biggrin.gif

Wow! What its like in the seat of an admin! There we see that you can edit and delete posts as if they were ure own, and at the bottom left folks we have a nice little Admin Options list to do crazy and horrible things to the members you don't like.
Along with merge posts. it looks like he uses mozilla firefox and often opens tabs to save the hassle of extra windows. lol  happy.gif

btw:how come Yoshi and Paladin are all mad at each other?
Deathknight doesn't like Half Life 2!!! *GASP*

You haven't seen Admin Control Panel wink.gif Those abilities is what a moderator can do as well. You can merge topics, seperate topics, multi delete posts, and some other stuff. Firefox is THE browser, tabbing leaves your taskbar free.

Relations between me and paladin are none of your buisness. It got out of hand so [hopefully] it stopped publicly on these forums.

I liked Half life 2, but my video card is incapable of displaying most of the textures and shaders required in HL2. So it looked real f'ed up for me. Flashlight doesnt work, and movable objects are brighter than normal for some reason.

PHP and creativity usually go hand in hand. As I said, when I made blue look great, it looked like sclegacy. What isolated has there is a good start, but probaly not close to what the finishing product would be.

Nobody knows what Star2edit will be like. I'm assuming it will be simular, if not beyond the C++ usage in War3edit. Thus, I would intend to have premade scripts and/or triggers made up free for map makers to download, so they can focus more upon convential map editing that they're used to, and slowly work up towards being the best, or "bolt head" quality wink.gif

I actually once made a premade set of scripts and triggers for different command uses within Warcraft III when I was trying it out. Here's a of some of the commands I made usable in the game through the chat (all commands can be disabled by host):
- gold 100 1 (Gives 100 gold to Player 1 [can also be inputted as the color])
- lumber 100 1 (Gives 100 lumber to Player 1 [can also be inputted as the color])
- give 2 (Gives all units currently selected to Player 2 [can also be inputted as the color])
- forfit (Usually, if you leave the game, all of your units will be split between your allies. If a player felt that their allies were unfair or BS'ed him, he can choose to destroy all his/her units before the game decides to kill him.)
- scatter (I was attemping to make all units selected scatter random directions, incase of a spell being used ot something. I don't think I got it to work)
- request gold 100 (Requests 100 gold from all the players. When a player responds by giving any amount, it is redisplayed how much the player is requesting if others wish to help)
- request lumber 100 (Same as above, but with lumber).
- backstab (inverses all alliances. I doubt it has pratical use, but I found it amusing to make and use)
- angryexit (ends your game in defeat, and lets everyone know in a message that you left very angry).
- brb (only can be used in melee games and such. Converts your base to AI until you return).

Thats some of the stuff you will likely see as commands in Starcraft 2 maps using a script I could make (gold=minerals, lumber=gas if SC2 wink.gif)

It'll be nice to have seperate skins that people could choose between... even one on white background if there's enough demand for it.

And it just might be the finished product simply because I don't know if I'm going to have the free time to play around some more. I try to work on things that would carry over if starcraft 2 is announced.

My one hope is that heroes can pick up items even if the normal game doesn't support it... JUST for ums. I don't want it to be like warcraft 3, but I still want them to code the capability for heroes picking items in ums maps.

Multipule skins is fine, the only pain in the ass is that with any changes you make with one skin, you must do it to the other. Its better maybe just to make "variations" of the two layouts by changing the wrapper, CSS and images, but not touching the HTML layout.

In other words, everything in between where the after navigation and before "The time is now" would not be editible in terms of layout changes (except for images and colors).

Took me a while to get used to the new layout but i like it alot more.

I know... That's a big reason why I stopped playing around with the blue skin, I started fixxing things up in this skin and didn't carry the changes over to it. I bet though we could modify something in the database to have it look at the same folder for the templates and maybe code something to break off for one file like the show topic template.
OR
we could make such a sexy skin that there'd be no need for two because everyone would be so in love with it smile.gif

All those systems that you just mentioned can be done in SC. Indeed it would take much more triggers than what you need in Wc3 but you can easily do them without much of a hassle.

I really don't know how you would get those premade scripts right away. I mean you also would be a noob in the first days that SC2 mapmaking community began. People would go like "OMG I figured out the move trigger!". Yes, most of us advanced mapmakers will be a step ahead of the rest of the people but that doesn't make us as good as we were in SC. It's just a matter of who learns the fastest.

I mean that every user will go into the User CP and select what colors they want to see at SEN. These changes will only affect them and only they will see it not other members.
IE: I go into my User CP and I want the background yellow, the borders green and everything else red.

It's kinda like we make SEN look the way we want to but it doesn't affect the other users.

Or you could have users choose one of several pre-made skins.

In terms of Xbox LIVE, I dont have the adapter yet. Crud. I'm trying to right now take the halo campaign on legendary, and im stuck at the stupid hanger bay in the first level. The elites keep kicking my butt by regenerating their sheilds if I do any damage at all.

I'll post my ID quick when I get the wireless adapter for LIVE, the store I visit called Canada Computers thats like, a 10 minute walk from my house, doesn't have it in stock and will email me when they do. Until then, its campaign for me.

Right now, I'm removing spyware from my moms work and optimizing about 10 computers. I'm getting $10 an hour so I'm in no rush wink.gif

Beer, the triggering system that War3 uses is slightly more complex, and those commands are grabbed from the chat. No beacons, units, or what not is required. Its also variable. Whereever it says "100 gold" can also be 235, 753 or whatever. It grabs the text, figures out what you want, and does it.

Green is sexy enough people. Don't like it? I might just come out of retirement to ban you wink.gif Kidding. Premade skins are over rated. Plus, most of them suck majorly. Its supposed to be an entire site, not some stupid forum with kiddy webmasters. With invisionfree around (no offense) but thats a prime example of how they're making websites so even idiots can do it. I've seen people with invisionfree tell me how easy it is to set up their own board and skin, but they end up asking me how I made the cool planet, mods, skin and getting your own server. Pfft. Shame on humanity.

ADDITION:
Oh yeah, I just noticed. Happy 100,000 posts. I'm surprised you guys didn't make a news post about it tongue.gif

For the heck of it, heres some competitive stats:
We are 10 times behind blizzforums,
I think we are tied with warboards.org, or very close. I can't actually see because they are down.
We're ahead of TA by 25,000
Other sites: not worth mentioning or it'd be really cruel to do so.

Then again, its nothing impressive at all. It's more a "useless posts just for the fun of it", in which none of these forums have a Anything Goes (garbage) forum. Not like any of it is pure spam, but without the garbage, we'd probaly be right behind TA or something.

@isolated: Annocements are done through UserCP -> Annocements (at the bottom). Theres a stupid date thing you have to do, that was done in the 2.0 trial.

The post count is quite accurate, as everytime I'd do mass deleting (which was rare anyway, because I always keep old posts. First post ever made on the forums) I would always do a post recount of everyones posts and the board posts. I didn't bother reprogramming though, its already a feature in invision 2.0. So you're right it is still impressive with the amount of posts.

I'd say staredit.net is the leader in UMS map making, aside from Starcraft.org which they have different ways of doing things. Due to popularity, they skip game testing maps and screenshots, which can sometimes leave fake or bad maps within their archives. I'm not bashing Starcraft.org though.

I say, if you're looking for ALL quality and fun maps, come to staredit.net. Looking for a certain map, advanced search (which doesn't appear to work with their new layout and programming, which I'm quite displeased about, because I liked the older one better sad.gif I'm going to have to yell at BSTRhino when I ever come back smile.gif However, they are attempting to actually categorize maps, so I'm sure we'll see more from them) or more maps, come to starcraft.org. Besides, starcraft.org has TONS of more features over us, and their site is quite impressive. They're the gurus of the community as well.

@Moose: Moo. Hey hey tongue.gif Keeping the slaves in line? Good stuff. Doesn't matter about coding, just help IP run the site. Its what you were doing when I was there.

We have about 165,000 downloads and 110,000 posts.

Hmm... so WC3 editor is that advanced. Imma have to open it after 2 years.

If yoshi gives out those mins they should go to extra money in SEN Lots.

We aren't that far behind SC.org. They have roughly 2000 UMS(1100 Multiplayer UMS, 900 single Player UMS) maps compared to our 1000UMS.
They have a lot of maps of very poor quality and almost all our maps are of good quality.

Don't forget that SC.org doesn't manually check them because of popularity (I think they had 5000 maps before, im surpised its now 2000). Some of their maps may be poor quality, actually in fact, seeing that on SC.org is what made me create the system we're using right now. I once wanted to download starship troopers, and all the maps were fakes or really cruddy. I wasn't happy because I didn't get what I wanted, so I aspired to make all maps manually checked. Of course, the disadvantage is that we have in fact less maps (we'd have 1868 or something right now if we accepted em all). I really like them though, they've done a heck of a job and are quite pleasant to speak with (other sites like campaigncreations don't respond to my emails. I dont know why, but I don't care at this point).

Yoshi; SC.org hit the 1,000,000 mark on Starcraft Maps at one time, before they cleared the thousands of copies and such off the system, because they allowed anyone to add them...

This site is doing thing, with loads of new projects being started and ended by the same week!
