So do you have the Monopoly Guy in the Center of the minimap? If not, then you can't call this an official Monopoly Map...

This sounds great... i would love to see a monopoly map to play on SC. But i have one statement for you...

Make SURE you have all the rules correct. It pisses me off when im playing real monopoly with my friends and they think they can skip the houses and go straight for a hotel. YOU CANT BUY A HOTEL UNTIL YOU HAVE 4 HOUSES.
AND YOU CANT BUY HOUSES UNTIL YOU OWN A WHOLE PROPERTY DIVISION.

Also... you need a way to show each properties 'division'. You know how the property cards have colors on them..? They arent colored for no reason.

As long as all the rules are correct, i will be happy to play your map.

ADDITION:
Also, if you dont intend to finish this map soon, im going to make one of my own. If you decide to cancel the project, let me know.

I think that this is a wonderful idea it will be fun to play smile.gif but won't you need a huge map? and the triggers will be a pain tongue.gif

Still the same as the one in the first post, except maybe add like 2 or 3%. The work I did on the auction triggers and such are not significant in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah, those rules are the same. And each set of properties has its own color. Even after a year, I haven't cancelled this so I don't think it will be cancelled anytime soon.

I used to test with D_Scypher (who no one on SEN knows), RexyRex, and Legacy(U). Since then, I've been testing all the triggers alone and I figure that's how it will remain until I'm ready to release a Beta of it and ask for a list of bugs I'd need to fix.

The triggers are a pain. That's why I started a year ago and have been too lazy to do the same trigger over and over again 200+ times. smile.gif

I'm still on a short vacation in northern California at the moment, but when I get back tomorrow I'll start working on the 300+ property triggers more extensively.

Haha I should hope so. Once I get the triggers done for Baltic, Mediterranean, Connecticut, Oriental, Vermont, States, St. James, and Virginia (off the top of my head, so if I got some wrong oh well), then I can see how well the many property triggers work. If they work perfectly, then I can copy them for the rest of the squares and the map will be about 95% done.

I just require that motivation to do the same triggers over and over again.

Yah... Thats wat i hate about advanced maps... Trigger repeats... I Hate doing it... On the defense im making right now 4 players every player needs the same triggers about 200-300 each... so thats like 1000 triggers Tis is wat pisses meh off about map making...!

Actually if I remember correctly, GoldenUrg's chess map didn't have that many triggers. Lots of repeats, yes, but not like 300 triggers. I haven't seen his triggers in a long time, though, so I may be wrong.

What about a board and squares, then you get an scv to be the house builder and you get money for holding that spot, then you can buy marines w/ that money and kill every one?

What the hell are you talking about? What gave you the idea that you could make marines to kill other players? Have you ever done that in the real Monopoly board game?

What you're talking about seems like an entirely new board game that has nothing to do with Monopoly. biggrin.gif

I remember a very while back (when I was a mapmaker) me and Buttermilk tried to make a monopoly-war map, but it failed...
We where on the right track and had the map going as we wanted when my starcraft game broke, and he aborted the project...

Good luck with this and I hope you can manage to accomplish it, and hopefully it doesn't have too many bugs tongue.gif

Yeah, the bugs will be deadly if they come up. I figure if a trigger doesn't work with one of the properties, that would mean the other 30+ cpies of that trigger wont work either.

I just hope that doesn't happen at all or else my laziness with make my head explode.

Yeah... hopefully that doesn't happen. I like to do all the triggs for one player, test it, and if they all work just transfer them all to the other players...
