[color=#b5b5ff]I don't think it should take longer to update between 5 patches then two, I think it's just re-finding some memory offsets.  SI seems to relutcant to hand over the source code though...

You know, as long as there aren't any more offsets, it takes about 5 hours of work(DT, you should know how I know this by now). The hardest part is finding all the Act and Req offsets.

Well, if all it takes is a few hours and knowing what you're doing, maybe we might have a shot at a crack prgramming team.

Of course, that's only if SI would even left us glimpse at the source code. Hm. I wonder...

Your guess is as good as mine. Feel free to pester IP about it.

I don't think he will. But, I didn't say that I needed the source code. DT has the 1.13e Memgraft. I think the SEN-Mod team should test it first just to make sure I got the offsets right(which is why I gave it directly to him). If enough people ask for it, I'll submit it to the DLDB.

Hey can you send it to me? I will test the offsets for you.

I expected that. No, really I did. It is really good, even though SI might not like it too much. I have tested most of the stuff, but as I said already, I don't know if I got it all right.

Seconded... I have another 12 hours to kill and nothing else to do. tongue.gif

Plus... 1.13... MemGraft... too awesome not to test... smile.gif

UPDATE:

Seems to work fine. I opened the Nomad Fleet mgp and saved a release. It ran on 1.13e exactly the same as it ran on 1.11b. No errors found yet! smile.gif

Will continue testing.

That's good to hear. I should mention that bliz did patch some of the actions in memgraft(MORPH UNIT(1.12b->1.13a), TRAIN UNIT(1.13b->1.13d) so that they have restrictions that didn't exist. I was really disapointed when I tried to do a Guardian/Devourer reversion patch, only to realize that Morph Unit had been restricted to specific ID's. Which is why I'm making my program, to carefully reallow those small things.

EDIT: OH, I did use the 1.12b version as a base to update from, so it won't load its own saves. Sorry, but that's the price of not getting the source code. Anyway, I never use Memgraft except to make the exe. I almost always use StarGraft, then import the patch.

Argh... evil Blizzard. I'm sure we'll be able to find some work-arounds until your program comes out though.

At least it's able to load 1.11b saves. wink.gif

I dont think you should allow morphing, even though it would be a nice feature to have it would still make blizzard angry that your unpatching something they did (and they might sue)

I love Jasc Paint Shop Pro v9
biggrin.gif

I really need to learn the iscripting and memory editing stuff.
Any really good tutorials on this?
I learned what I know from dtbk's, but I want to go beyond that.

Oh, and whats up with not being able to upload .bmp files?
I had to convert to Jpg, and that gets annoying after a while.

Not PNG, PNG takes up much more space as well.

You mentioned that as a PNG the official sig took up too much space for hosting. I converted it to a High-Quality GIF and halved the space consumption.

Well, as long as we have something to work with, and as long as Blizzard doesn't decide to go on another patching spree, I think we might actually make progress this time. Do we have an ideas set out for the mod? I remeber that I had mentioned a potential mod idea, but that was a while ago and I'm not sure if I remember it all. DT_Battlekruser said it was alright then, but maybe it isn't now. I'll investigate to see if I can find it somewhere. A pool of ideas to work with now might save us hassles later down the road.

ADDITION:

Found it. We had a side-thing going on for ideas, and even though it's closed, we can still take a look at all of the old ideas we had floating around.
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopic=16429

Maybe, with a basis to work with, we can begin pooling our ideas to decide what our first mod will be, or something to at least get us all involved until the work begins.

In hindsight, I'm liking your simple race expansion mod, start nice 'n slow.

I sent another PM to IP, begging on my knees for a forum. We must get one!

I forgot about which extentions are allowed here, so I had to 'trick' it by adding the .scx. I do it all the time when I don't have the utility with my to zip it properly. I guess that, since it works, it should be put into the DLDB.

As for Blizzard, I was planning on a new patcher that undid those, plus some other things they had blocked originally. I won't leave it as open as they did. I'll add extra code that just allows paticular units(adding onto what they had), instead of FOGETTING two simple lines of code.

Probably not the best idea, but based off the fact that this is the first time these things can be edited easily, I am still going forward. I've just got to write enough code to parse through all my data, and then write it into Sc's memory, then the loader will be done. Then, I'll have to work on the UI.
