I was so damn close to get 4.0 for my GPA
the stupid music teacher gave me a B, so I got only 3.85 something I gotta kill that teacher.

Lol ok you can go kill that teacher. But I have a good reason for killing one of my previous teachers for accusing me. By the way I dont live in america, I live in Canada.

ADDITION:
Also I see that american education is by far easier than the canadian. Geez I have trouble getting an A for some reason because I have to exert effort into all my subjects, and I'm bewildered by somethings. Its harsh. You have to focus on 9 subejects at once. Look I try and raise my socials mark, and my science mark goes down. or vice-versa. I know my Math is actually better than last year because I progressed from 78% to 95.3% NOW THAT"S IMPROVEMENT! English I scarely have troubles with at the moment because I guess Í'm getting better Marks. French I have once in awhile stuggles but with report cares around the corner, and I currently have an A in all subjects except P.E. I should get a GPA of around 3.89 .

Now back to the american system. you guys sayin that you dont try and you get over 90%? I try so hard and some subjects I struggle to get even 86%+ on some subjects. Wow I envy you guys. Go have some fun while you can. My fun is ended because I'm trying so hard with school. I never watch T.V. On the weekdays, and I go on the comp once in awhile. (not that much) THey give you so much homework. I guess I'm too occupied with the homework load to have a blast everyday of my life. Im in grade 8 by the way.

I still think that multiple choice is a pretty bad idea if you're going to test actual intelligence and argument skills. History, for example, is all essay-based over here - you have to really know your stuff to put a coherent argument together - it's so easy to tell when someone doesn't know what they're talking about.

Example question:
'To what extent can the domestic policy of Gladstone's 1868-74 ministry be described as successful?'

You would be expected to write 3+ sides of A4 on this. Firstly, you'd have to define 'successful' i.e. what makes a successful ministry, and then make your argument, using evidence and bringing in and analysing the opinions of historians. It isn't difficult when you've done it for years, but if you can't write a good argument and you don't know the subject of the question in great detail then you're screwed.

I reckon multiple choice can be bluffed through if you have enough common sense and a general knowledge of the subject because the questions tend to be leading and even if you don't know the answer, then tenuous knowledge of the subject allows you to eliminate answer choices by deduction.

I mean, look at this sample question I found from regents papers on a website:
Well, it's pretty obvious...

On the Canadian System (Alberta), when you write end of school exams (Grade 12). For each subject, there are several parts, one part is Multiple Choice, one is usually an essay, and there are also sometimes written questions.

I would KILL to have all my tests multiple choice, you dont actually have to completely memorize stuff. You just have to recognize it.

But you said it was 91%...

Oh well. This semester will probably be my easiest. The only potential hard one would probably be science. Other than that I have English, Drama, Science and Civics and careers. I'm trying to get over 90% this semester.

SATs is what ultimatly grades you so you can go to college and I got to admit, it is easy since I get straight A+'s. But, most people are slackers.

INCORRECT! ACTs are more important to colleges and universities... ACT really counts... I think that SAT is just plain dumb... If you aren't native born American who happens to be a good english speaker, you can do better than FOBs who can't speak english even if their life depended on it...

INCORRECT! Most people are NOT slackers. I am not a slacker, I try my butt off in my subjects. But, maybe for these IQ 7000 programming nerds here, It might be as easy as to flick a thumb or something... I don't think it is slacking off, but rather your motivation and intelligence... And then there are people who are really stupid...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SkuLL on 2006-02-17 at 23:27:42
disgust.gif A lot of people in my class are slackers. They could easily get B's and A's if they study but they always end up failing and not handing in homework. I have a feeling I'm in the wrong class sometimes, considering how smart I am.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SiLeNT(U) on 2006-02-17 at 23:29:31
I think I'm the biggest slacker ever, I never study for tests and I do homework on occasion, but since I still get good marks, there's no motivation to try smile.gif

That's what I use to think. But I started getting more B's than A's and I started getting lower marks on all my exams... I started to panic! But then recently I started doing my homework more often and reading more, and my grades gave a little boost. I was so happy. If people only tried to study and do homework. cool1.gif

Yeah, buh I get distracted easily. When it wuz time for exams, everytime i tried to study, I would end up doing something else in like 5 minutes.

half the class failed and is getting kicked out...i'm surprised i even got a C >.<

Never study, if so, only like the period before.

Report, edit, etc...Posted by smasher25 on 2006-02-19 at 19:13:57
Oh yea primary school. Elementary schools give you grades. But Primary schools and elementary schools give you no freedom. You have to come into the building a stupppid way, actually through a certain door, theres rules about things being off limit, you have to stay in to eat. You have to ASK FOR A censored.gif HALL PASS TO even go in the hallways for 5 seconds. In middle school and secondary, you get to actually eat your lunch where ever you want, and you can actually roam the hallways.
