Rantent, Now Way is awesome, but the little backups sounds make it kinda cutesy. I think you should take them out and put in electric guitar at about 0:13. I was really expecting "Da da da da da dah da da (HEAVY DRUM ROLL) (REPEATS WITH HARD ELECTRIC GUITAR) (CUE EXTREMELY ANGRY LYRICS)*
Dark Path is cool, but I thing the one noise that constantly repeats gets a bit tiring, and doesn't really let the melody wander anywhere.
I drum in a punk/ska band. We recorded three songs in a rehearsal a few days ago:
www.myspace.com/patrickgeraldThe last two songs.
The sound quality isn't that great, considering it was recorded with a tape player and then that was recorded with a computer's internal mic. I did all the editing and a bit of EQ work to make it sound better (the initial computer recording was much worse).
Its sounds more punk than Ska, as I half expected horns.
(I always look out for ska stuff, as I was in a ska band a while back, I was the keyboardist for a few songs.)
Anyway its pretty good stuff.
Willhelm, your idea for the guitar seems perfect now that I think of how it would song, don't know why I went where I did.
I like ska, or at least stuff I've heard from it. Five Iron Frenzy FTW!
(The Low Life is a good ska band too) (Chumbawamba is
kinda skaish, but with a bit more technoey flavor)
www.myspace.com/the716gang
i think.
Rantent, are you gonna redo it with the angry guitar or no? Everytime I listen I expect it, and everytime I hear it I'm dissappointed, leaving me with insatiable urge for "The Fight Song" by Marilyn Manson.
Damn you, Rantent!
i made a sippin the barre wav file, lol i havnt recorded or made any music though
I am trying to find someone I know to record playing that part, as computerized guitars sound horrid.
[attachmentid=19905] Heres something to distract you while I look more.
Yeah, they don't even sound like guitars. I hope you find someone to help you out. I know I'm gonna end up listen to it about a thousand times.
Command.mp3 is awesome! That beat sounds really nice with the violin in the background, it has a kind of hip-hop flow to it. Now if only you'd get one over a minute done. =P
I wish I could come up with songs.
[attachmentid=20086] A redo of the earlier song I made. Although the instruments were originally cool, I quickly learned they were annoying, so I redid the song with orchestral parts, and added a nice little piano peice at the end. I think this sounds the most rpg-like of any of my songs.
Just a quick question: What programs do you use to make your music? I have the G7 demo, but not being able to save pisses me off... Also the violin sounds like crap in it, also pissing me off... And free would be nice, if possible.
I just use the Garageband that came with my mac, no upgrades or anything. Face it, almost every computerized instrument for free sounds horrid.
The violins in your music sounds a lot better than mine did, I guarentee that.
ADD: Oh yeah, windows compatible would help too
Unless there's a way windows can run a .dmg file?
Command is the only track that I used violins in, and actually those are cut wavs. You can hear slight clicks here and there in it.
I was wondering what those were.
Yay, I think I'm actually getting used to using the string instruments.

My first midi:
[attachmentid=20417]
Holy Sin, those were some very nice tracks, but they're both a tad repetitious, and ultimately way too short.
Still, the second sounds like something out of FFVII. The other is a bit more stiff, and doesn't flow quite as well. The second one is definitely the better, it has a nice ominious tone to it. Does it loop well?
Also, if it's a midi, why save it in the .mp3 format? You could've saved alot of filespace with a .mid.
Yes they do loop well. The first isn't quite finished. And for some reason, I can't save anything as a midi, so I have to record the sound and save as a wav and then convert to an mp3.

Sounds like an average local garage band right now. Not bad.
If you want to double or even triple the quality of your recordings, get an OMNImicrophone and use equalizer on wmp and rerecord it digitally. If you need details on how, pm me.
[attachmentid=20481] I just started goofing around and made this.
[attachmentid=20482] Strange, it sounds like something I've heard, but I can't place it.
These first two are pretty short.
[attachmentid=20510] This one I like a whole lot. Probably my new favorite of mine.
HolySin,
