Hmm this just occured to me, but it's probably something that's already been mentioned before: What if you could make a program to "unpatch" (not downgrade) starcraft so that it CAN set use EUD actions in triggers once again?  I mean, in addition to what you currently have, you'd basically have as close to a fully-featured auto-modder that you can get if you had both of those features.  And considering this is already a 3rd party program that effectively hacks starcraft's memory, it's not like you'd be doing anything you arn't already in re-enabling them.

This is cake to add, you just need to do the same thing that EUDEnabler did, remove the buffer overflow check.

Heh, like I mentioned before, if some of the files could be patched while playing, through the use of triggers or something like that, then that would be even better. smile.gif

If I put it in a plugin at all, it would be a separate one, tnough. For various reasons I'm not ever including such a feature in SCMLoader. Just as with ASM in memgraft patches, I'm not going to support this because it could be used for spreading viruses, trojans, or other malicious code through Starcraft maps over battle.net if it was enabled.

Well surely if you can get a map of SC's memory to tell between code and data, then you could (with some effort) prevent overriding code portions with EUDs. At least in theory.

Well, I'm just about to get started on a new project that would allow something like EUDs, except not restricted by the multiples of four thing. I'll restrict the power of the user, but i need to know which portions of the memory should be allowed to be edited.

Heres the basic way it works.
Death counts for player one of three units are reserved. Those units are
vespene gas tank 1 (offset)
vespene gas tank 2 (value)
vespene gas sac 2 (length)
Switch 255 is reserved as the on-off switch.

You set the deaths of vespene gas tank 1 to 7100688 (or 0x6C5910), the deaths of vespene gas tank 2 to 0 and the deaths of vespene gas sac 2 to 1, and then flip switch 255 and then the graphic for the marine (0x6C5910) becomes a scourge (i believe). The program then unflips switch 255 and empties the death counts.

I'm not sure if this will make it so they can't join or not, but the next release is going to have special game types for it. There will at least be a use map settings one for sure, but I may add others as well.
